Guest guest
Namaste friends, I caught a discussion of doshas corresponding to various rasis. I suggest that we should stick to the teachings of Parasara. There is already a lot of corruption in Vedic knowledge. The more we deviate from the teachings of maharshis, the more difficult it becomes to discover the true knowledge. Irrespective of the teachings of contemporary savants, Parasara's teaching is that Scorpio is a kapha rasi. Fiery signs are pitta rasis, earthy signs are vaata rasis, watery signs are kapha rasis and airy signs have all the three. Of course, this does not mean that everyone with lagna in Sc is of kapha type. There are so many other factors that matter. But the basics must be taught and preserved as taught by maharshis. Then only we will have any hope of solving the remaining riddles oneday. Along with doshas, we should also consider the natural significators of tissues and various activities. For example, Sun is the significator of digestion as already mentioned by a learned friend. A lady I know with Sun afflicted by Saturn in a vaata rasi has poor apaana vaayu (vaata problem) and it affects her digestion process. She had chronic constipation until she tried ayurveda. Another lady has Mars (significator of majja = marrow/nerve tissue) afflicted by Rahu in a vaata rasi and has " majja gata vaata " (marrow afflicted by vaata) and suffered from epilepsy until she tried ayurveda. In addition, sub-doshas are as important as doshas. There are five sub-doshas within each dosha. Obviously these are given by the influence of the five tattvas on the doshas. For example, a fiery influence on a kapha rasi may denote kledaka kapha. An airy influence on a pitta rasi may denote aalochaka pitta. An ethery influence on a pitta rasi may denote sadhaka pitta. And so on. We can analyze rasi, D-3, D-6 and D-30 etc. There are a lot of things left for our research when it comes to the links between Jyotish and Ayurveda. But, deviating from the teachings of maharshis in *basics* is like taking an exit from the highway into a small road with the target still hundreds of miles away! We should go on the highway as far as possible. Let us stick to the basics taught by maharshis. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
