Guest guest
Satyam Bruyat Priyam Bruyat Dear Swee, Same question. Doesn't Index finger represent Guru (Pukhraj is worn in there) and Middle stand for Saturn (Blue sapphire is recommended there) ? love Ramesh On Behalf Of aavesh_s Saturday, June 11, 2005 7:04 AM [Jaya Jagannatha] Mudras & Palmistry (Swee) Dear Swee, Thanks for your quick & detailed response. There seems to be a slight mixup in the order which you mentioned.I am giving the order which is the generally accepted one in Mudras: The thumb represents Agni -CORRECT Index finger -AKASH-GURU Middle finger - VAYU - SHANI Ring Finger - JALA - SURYA Little finger - BHUMI-BUDHA As you can see that all the fingers correspond to the mounts under them & the elements of the respective planets (like Budha has the Tattwa of Bhumi etc). The only confusion is in the ring finger which is the finger of the Sun (where we wear the ruby) but as per Mudra Vigyan this is supposed to rule Jala Tattwa, hence my question Regarding Gyan Mudra it is the linking of the index finger which rules Akash Tatwa with the thumb this increases DHI SHAKTI & is also helpful in controlling the ego I will continue if you are interested in more info on Mudras Regards, aavesh -- In , " Swee Chan " <swee@c...> wrote: > Jaya Jagannatha > > Dear Aavesh, > Namaste > > I am giving you what I have learnt and it is a recollection from many years, > so please bear with me :-) > The thumb represents Agni - Sun > Index finger - Vayu - Saturn > Middle finger - Akaash - Jupiter > Ring Finger - Bhumi - Mars > Little finger - Jala - Venus > > For meditation, connect Agni with Vayu - simply touch the tip of the Thumb > with the tip of the Index finger. Guest guest
Dear Ramesh, I dislike deviating from the original thread's intent, but permit me just this once. Yellow sapphire should be worn on the right-hand ring finger instead of the forefinger. I remember reading somewhere (possibly in VRA before I gave it to a father-son pair of astrologers J) that although the index finger, as the mount at its base, represents Jupiter, the yellow sapphire is best worn on the ring finger, possibly because the index finger is also representative of tarjani, the threatener. Since tarjani shows a subjugative posture, the ego flames tend to get fanned, an obviously undesirable side-effect. Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Sarbani, Namaste The finger of Jupiter enjoys leadership qualities even if it is to the expense of everyone else. It can make the person over confident. I have witnessed many failed marriages where the lady wears a gemstone on her Index finger and never listens to any feedback from her husband or with friends. They become so over confident, they tend to order their friends of husband about. This is especially so when that particular segment is the most prominent. The tip of the index finger is Meena, the middle phalange is Cancer where Jupiter exalts and the segment closest to the mound of Jupiter is Scorpio.
