Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Gaurav, Namaste What is the positive aspect of Saturn? How will you work towards this? It is the manas that can only tell you what is prying on your mind. Taking birth during a Sukla Paksha is a positive Moon at work, though its Rahu tithi indicates otherwise, Rahu is good if placed in the 3rd. So there are many positive side to your chart and you do not allow yourself to further explore the possibilities. The negative mind can even tell you that a stay in a 5 star hotel can be more miserable than the bare necessities in the Himalayas if your mind is already geared towards living in the Himalayas. Agree? Read carefully what Mark has just said: [Also, I noticed I would feel very rough whenever the Moon collided with either Saturn, Mars, or Rahu & Ketu.] So is this the work of Saturn or is it his Moon at work? BTW, loneliness or isolation is indicative of your 12th lord at play especially Venus. You maybe married, but you still feel lonely. Learn to share your positive mental “make-up” (Mercury and Moon in parivatana) on a deeper spiritual level. Venus exalts in the 10th, so putting your energy into work is better than putting negative thoughts to your 5th, 12th and with friends or partnerships including the spouse. I concur that the 2 malefics in your 2nd from UL indicates challenges where marriage is concerned, but with Sun as the dispositor in a playful sign, you can also learn to be as angelic by channeling your energy positively on the more spiritual front J of course, the positive side of Saturn can also indicate selflessness. This is evident in your mother’s case (A4 and MK Saturn’s aspect). I have my 12th lord on the ascendant. But it is Mars in a neutral sign. This energy can be channeled into creativity (cooking, Taurus, the sign of the kitchen) etc. You will find that people with 12th lord on the ascendant are usually pennywise and pound foolish i.e., on they negative aspect they can be rather extravagant while on the positive side, they can be very generous (to a fault). Mark: [but, as I began to pay more attention to the Moon's cycles of Waxing & Wanings, I began to notice that there was something there, in the cycle that I'd been missing. Eventually I realized that the Moon's cycles, were a kind of rest & activitiy cycle. In other words, when the Moon's getting smaller, this is really indicative of a rest cycle. And, the more I watched this, and confirmed that, the more I realized I could either participate more with this intention, or strain against it.] So which planet but the early morning Sun (rise) with each day that dawns promising a brand new day? I do advice Surya namaskar so the person can absorb all the positive energies from the Sun. You will find that a person with a strong Sun will always have an optimistic view to life. That’s all there is to it. Sun has the power to crush all negativities so we do not have to jangle with Saturn; to pacify him offer devotion. Om Namo Narayanaya. That’s all there is to it J. Let's say in addition to the word, strengthening, that we mean, balancing, or neutralizing, or as you said: " attaining exalation, which is the goal, anyways " . We therefore, want to turn a malefic functioning planet, ie. Saturn, into it's more benefic status. This is of course, especially important during a Sade Sat period. In fact, all Saturn 'moments' whether transits, like Sade Sat, or dasa periods, are there to indicate the time when we're supposed to be strengthening that planet. Most people think that Sade Sat, or Saturn dasa periods, are only indicative of the predictable kind of karma, consequences, or grief, of Saturn that's there in the chart. It's true, too often, that's what ends up; but there's another orientation towards 'maleficness', and that is, these so-called malefic periods, are really about 'when' we're supposed to be learning how to balance, neutralize or even transform, our malefics, into their own, Benefic possibilities, or status! Common sense tells us, when we're going through a difficult time, that something, transformative may be at hand. Let's say, we've moved into a period that's indicative of some health problems. This can be interpreted only as karmic, but when we have some health complaint, 'coming', we can also treat it as a time, to focus on our health or healing. When we do this, in fact, that sensitive, delicate period, can become very different, even positive. Like this, Sade Sat periods, can either be periods of SAturn grief, or periods of SAturn opportunity or wealth! This has been my experience, now for so many years; that when I'm entering a difficult dasa or transit, and something like that seems to be coming, I've learned how to turn that around. It used to be that Waning periods were very rough for me. The entire last week before the New Moon's would always be rough, depressive, full of anxieties, loneliness, and sadness. Well I got the idea that my chart reflected that! Moon with SAturn in the 12th house, and Moon only 1 house away from my Sun in the 11th, helped me understand why I was so sensitive to this Moon, Waning period. Also, I noticed I would feel very rough whenever the Moon collided with either Saturn, Mars, or Rahu & Ketu. Then, when I went into my SAturn Mahadasa period in 1991, the first 3,or4 years were extremely rough. But, as I began to pay more attention to the Moon's cycles of Waxing & Wanings, I began to notice that there was something there, in the cycle that I'd been missing. Eventually I realized that the Moon's cycles, were a kind of rest & activitiy cycle. In other words, when the Moon's getting smaller, this is really indicative of a rest cycle. And, the more I watched this, and confirmed that, the more I realized I could either participate more with this intention, or strain against it. As I re-organized my life so I could rest more during this Waning cycle, very quickly I began to notice that I felt emmensely better during that 'time of the month'. Eventually, I even began to enjoy that deepest period of the Moon's Wanings, and experienced a very positive, and lively inward experience during the deepest parts of the New Moon. After this positive experience I began to explore if I could make my Saturn experiences more positive as well. As I learned how to strengthen my Saturn, through a number of means, I noticed that my Saturn/Moon transits of each month, and especially my Saturn dasa period, too began to be less negative, at first, and then, more positive, and eventually, even, blissful! Saturn's such an important planet, every bit as big as Jupiter, so probably as important. And because we live in an aggravated, SAturn age, it's even more important that we take steps to make our experience of SAturn positive! As we do this, even, SAde Sat periods can become positive, and Benefic! We just have to make our SAturn's positive, balanced or benefic, then, the transits as well as dasas of Saturn, also will be positive. The key is in accepting that the nature of these Saturn, periods, might be 'different' then say Jupiter, and to adjust. I'll never forget moving from Jupiter into Saturn, Mahadasa period. It was such a change, going from the expansive, active oriented period of Jupiter, into the more slow, patient, inward, and 'contractive' period of Saturn. That quality alone was hard to adjust to. But, once you learn that Saturn's nature is different, and Saturn periods are about developing that specially unique character of SAturn, then, all Saturn moments, of dasas and transits, can really, become positive! and not negative.
