Guest guest
Question 2 Birth Data: Steve Hubball 17 September 1952 @ 11:42 am (1DST), 01W50 52N30 (Birmingham, England). Sunrise at birth: 06:45 Lagna: Libra 21:48 Moon's constellation at birth is Magha, so M = 10 Birth time in Ghatis: (11:42 - 06:45) = 4:57 = 297 minutes 297/24 = 12.375 or 13th Ghati after sunrise, so G = 13 Lagna rashi is Libra, so L = 7 First sound in first syllable of name ('sa') gives Sound Number = 4 1. Sun Sun is in the constellation of Uttara Phalguni, so C = 12 Planet index number for Sun is 1, so P = 1 Sun is in the 1st navamsa of Virgo, so A = 1 Planetary adjustment for Sun = 5 Calculation: (C x P x A) + M + G + L = (12 x 1 x 1) + 10 + 13 + 7 = 42 42/12 = 3 r 6, so avastha or state = Aagamana (coming, returning) 6 x 6 = 36. Add sound number (4) gives 40 40/12 = 3 r 4 4 + Planetary Adjustment (5) = 9 9/3 = 3 r 0, so strength of the activity = Vicheshta (very little results) Results for Sun in Aagamana: affairs with the wives of others, deserted by people, likes travel, cheat, dirty. 2. Moon Moon is in Magha, so C = 10 Planet index number for Moon is P = 2 Moon is in the 4th navamsa of Leo, so A = 4 Planetary adjustment for Moon = 2 Calculation: (C x P x A) + M + G + L = (10 x 2 x 4) + 30 = 110 110/12 = 9 r 2, so avashta = Upavesana (sitting down) 2 x 2 = 4. Add Sound Number (4) gives 8 8/12 = 0 r 8 8 + Planetary Adjustment (2) = 10 10/3 = 3 r 1, so strength of the activity = Drishti (medium results) Results for Moon in Upavesana: diseases, unintelligent, poor, merciless, does misdeeds, steals money. 3. Mars Mars is in Jyeshta, so C = 18 Planet index number for Mars is P = 3 Mars is in the 6th navamsa of Scorpio, so A = 6 Planetary adjustment for Mars = 2 Calculation: (C x P x A) + M + G + L = (18 x 3 x 6) + 30 = 354 354/12 = 29 r 6, so avashta = Aagamana (coming, returning) 6 x 6 = 36. Add Sound Number (4) gives 40 40/12 = 3 r 4 4 + Planetary Adjustment (2) = 6 6/3 = 2 r 0, so strength of the activity = Vicheshta (very little results) Results for Mars in Aagamana: good character, endowed with gems, has weapons, destroyer of enemies. 4. Mercury Mercury is in Purva Phalguni, so C = 11 Planet index number for Mercury is P = 4 Mercury is in the 8th navamsa of Leo, so A = 8 Planetary adjustment for Mercury = 3 Calculation: (C x P x A) + M + G + L = (11 x 4 x 8) + 30 = 382 382/12 = 31 r 10, so avashta = Nriyalipsaa (longing to dance) 10 x 10 = 100. Add Sound Number (4) gives 104 104/12 = 8 r 8 8 + Planetary Adjustment (3) = 11 11/3 = 3 r 2, so strength of the activity = Cheshta (full results) Results for Mercury in Nriyalipsaa: honour, conveyances, gems, valorous, friends, learned in assemblies; [in a malefic rashi] licentious, goes to prostitutes. 5. Jupiter Jupiter is in Krittika, so C = 3 Planet index number for Jupiter is P = 5 Jupiter is in the 9th navamsa of Aries, so A = 9 Planetary adjustment for Jupiter = 5 Calculation: (C x P x A) + M + G + L = (3 x 5 x 9) + 30 = 165 165/12 = 13 r 9, so avashta = Bhojana (eating) 9 x 9 = 81. Add Sound Number (4) gives 85 85/12 = 7 r 1 1 + Planetary Adjustment (5) = 6 6/3 = 2 r 0, so strength of the activity = Vicheshta (very little results) Results for Jupiter in Bhojana: excellent food, wealth, royal insignia. 6. Venus Venus is in Chitra, so C = 14 Planet index number for Venus is P = 6 Venus is in the 8th navamsa of Virgo, so A = 8 Planetary adjustment for Venus = 3 Calculation: (C x P x A) + M + G + L = (14 x 6 x 8) + 30 = 702 702/12 = 58 r 6, so avashta = Aagamana (coming, returning) 6 x 6 = 36. Add Sound Number (4) gives 40 40/12 = 3 r 4 4 + Planetary Adjustment (3) = 7 7/3 = 2 r 1, so strength of the activity = Drishti (medium results) Results for Venus in Aargamana: wealthy, visits holy shrines, enthusiastic, diseases of hands and feet. 7. Saturn Saturn is in Hasta, so C = 13 Planet index number for Saturn is P = 7 Saturn is in the 7th navamsa of Virgo, so A = 7 Planetary adjustment for Saturn = 3 Calculation: (C x P x A) + M + G + L = (13 x 7 x 7) + 30 = 667 667/12 = 55 r 7, so avashta = Sabhaa (being at an assembly) 7 x 7 = 49. Add Sound Number (4) gives 53 53/12 = 4 r 5 5 + Planetary Adjustment (3) = 8 8/3 = 2 r 2, so strength of the activity = Cheshta (full results) Results for Saturn in Sabhaa: displays excellent judicial knowledge in assemblies, excellent wealth and gems, exceedingly brilliant. 8. Rahu Rahu is in Dhanishta, so C = 23 Planet index number for Rahu is P = 8 Rahu is in the 9th navamsa of Capricorn, so A = 9 Planetary adjustment for Rahu = 4 Calculation: (C x P x A) + M + G + L = (23 x 8 x 9) + 30 = 1686 1686/12 = 140 r 6, so avashta = Aagamana (coming, returning) 6 x 6 = 36. Add Sound Number (4) gives 40 40/12 = 3 r 4 4 + Planetary Adjustment (4) = 8 8/3 = 2 r 2, so strength of the activity = Cheshta (full results) Results for Rahu in Aargamana: irritable, unintelligent, poor, wicked, miserly, libidinous. 9. Ketu Ketu is in Ashlesha, so C = 9 Planet index number for Ketu is P = 9 Ketu is in the 9th navamsa of Cancer, so A = 9 Planetary adjustment for Ketu = 4 Calculation: (C x P x A) + M + G + L = (9 x 9 x 9) + 30 = 759 759/12 = 63 r 3, so avashta = Netrapaani (eyes and hands) 3 x 3 = 9. Add Sound Number (4) gives 13 13/12 = 1 r 1 1 + Planetary Adjustment (4) = 5 5/3 = 1 r 2, so strength of the activity = Cheshta (full results) Results for Ketu in Netrapaani: eyes troubles, troubles from wicked men, snakes, thieves and rulers. Comment Several planets are in inauspicious avashtas, particularly Moon, Rahu and Ketu indicating, amongst other things, some health problems. There are 4 planets in Aagamana ('coming, returning'): Sun, Mars, Venus and Rahu, giving mixed results. What does 'returning' mean? Does it imply a 'return to wholeness', to the source from which we came, to the Self? - for Sun represents the soul and Venus, as lagna lord, the self. Jupiter is in the state of Bhojana ('eating'), but gives little result in Vicheshta. Only two planets, Mercury and Saturn are in auspicious avashtas, but both give cheshta or 'full results'. Mercury in Nriyalipsa ('longing to dance') rules the 9th and 12th in rashi and is placed in the 8th house of jyotish in Scorpio in D-9. Saturn in Sabha ('being at an assembly') is yogakaraka, 4th and 5th lord conjoined with the lagna lord and 8th lord Venus in the 12th. So my strongest and most effective planets in good Sayanaadi Avashta are the spiritual Mercury (L9, L12), 'longing to dance' and placed in the 8th in D-9 and 12th in D-10, and 'hard-working' yogakaraka Saturn in the 12th in rashi with lagnesh and in the 8th in D-10.
