Dear Solai,

Excellent! Your calculations are almost correct.

You have errors in Venus and Rahu. Venus is in Pushyami,

i.e. the 8th constellation from Aswini. So C=8. Rahu

is in Punarvasu, i.e. the 7th constellation from Aswini.

So C=7. You took C=7 for Venus and C=8 for Rahu.

Narayan, you also got Rahu's avastha wrong (assuming

there is no bug in my software). Please check. You got

the magnitude of avastha (drishti - medium, cheshta -

full, vicheshta - little) wrong for several planets.

Please check. Solai got those right. Look at Solai's

tables.

I asked people to quote the standard results given by

Parasara. However, one should realize that these results

are there only for general guidance.

When somebody is an assembly of people, he gets

recognition for what he is good at. Similarly, a planet

in Sabhaa avastha (being at an assembly) does well in its

significations and its state is equivalent to that of a

man getting recognition for what he is good at. For

example, one with Jupiter in Sabhaa avastha will be very

intelligent and an excellent speaker. One with Mercury

in Sabhaa avastha will be recognized for scholarliness.

One with Moon in Sabhaa avastha will be recognized for

one's charming nature. The specific results given by

Parasara are just an example. Depending on the houses

owned and occupied by the planets, the results can

change.

A planet in Prakaasana avastha (shining) is like a man

who is just illuminated and glowing with happiness. The

natural significations of the planet glow with lustre.

This is a very saattwik state. Jupiter in Prakaasana

avastha, for example, makes one peaceful, happy and

blessed. A planet in Kautuka avastha (eager) is like a

person eager to do something. A planet in Nrityalipsaa

avastha (longing to dance) is like a man who is excited

and wants to dance.

Usually planets in the above avasthas do good.

A planet in Bhojana avastha (eating) is like a man who

is eating. In Prakasana avastha (glowing), every planet

is good. But malefics in Bhojana avastha are like a mad

man who had his food and looking for some mischief.

Try to go through the standard results and understand

for yourself what different avasthas mean.

In Sanjay's chart (Q1), find how many planets are in

these good avasthas (Sabha - assembly, Prakaasana -

shining, Nrityalipsa - longing to dance, Kautuka -

eager). That is ONE of the keys to understanding his

uniqueness.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha
