Dear list members

Namaste

Looking at the ephemeris, Mercury went direct today (4th Dec) and

Mars goes direct on 10th December.

What is the real impact of Mars retrograde in ones chart. Does it

negatively (or positively if Mars is Dustanan Houses or vakra in

Rasi chart) effect the area of the chart according to dashas and

transits.

Mars is also related to surgery, so can we deduce that under Mars

retro, one should not have an operation, or only be cautious of

operations when Mars is in 6th.

I know Western Astrologers go crazy about Mercury Retrograde

affecting communication and computers – has anyone experienced

this. I have been tracking Merc Retro with curiosity, but although

there were the odd communication related events, but couldn't

specifically attribute it to vakra Mercury. My confusion is how can

a planet affect anything exclusively, surely it's a combination of

dasha, planetary positions and transits confirming. Transiting

planets do cast an influence on everyone, so the malfunctioning of a

laptop should be attributed to the dasha and placement of the

planets in the chart of Manufacture of the Laptop, as opposed to the

User of the laptop. Hope Im not getting myself in a loop here

Could you please refer me to any Jyotish material on retrogade

planets and how to interpret its effects

This may be a beginner's question and may seem obvious, but have

posted it so that other beginners can learn from this too

Regards

Bipin

Dear Bipin

Mercury retrograde affects many people irrespective of their dasa or

trasits in some way or the other.

Now whatever mercury lords in the horoscope that issue always is

bound be affected when mercury goes retro.

Mercury in general rules communication, and thus affects

communication for many. It is better to have mouna vrata during

mercury retro periods. Meditation is best

best wishes
