Guest guest
Namaste Brendan, After reviewing all my options for determinating the sub-periods for the Narayana dasa systemI submit the following approach: ANTARADASA Rule: (a) Find the stronger of dasa sign and the 7th from it. This rule should written in the following manner to add clarity and specificity to the instruction:[ In my humble estimation, we should not assume that the brevity of any rule will be interpreted correctly. I urge all on this list to write your answers comprehensively so to limit misinterpretation] A1: Inspect each Mahadasa period that was calculated and; A2: Look at the Mahadasa sign, starting with the first Mahadasa period calculated then; A3: Start in order ( see below). Evaluate each Mahadasa sign ( e.g. Taurus first from the list below) and determine which sign Taurus OR the 7th sign from Taurus ( in this case Scorpio) is the strongest. How is that done? - Refer to the sections X through Z below on Comparing Strengths of the 1st and 7th signs to evaluate which sign is stronger. B1) Identify the lord of the strongest sign evaluated in A1-A3 above and see what Rasi the lord occupies. B2) Start antardasas from that sign. C1) If it is an odd sign, go forward. If it is an even sign, go backward. Note in this case we are talking about Odd or even footed signs which are the following: Ar,Ta,Ge,Li,Sc,Ag are odd-footed signs , the remaining signs Cn,Le, Vi,Cp,Aq,Pi are even footed. Examples: (1) Leo (forward) - Le, Vi, Li, Sc, Sg etc. Taurus (backward) - Ta, Ar, Pi, Aq, Cp etc D1) All 12 antardasas are of equal duration. So if dasa is of n years, all antardasas will be of n months. [Note: 1 year=12 months, 1 month=30 days, 1 day=1 degree motion of Sun] COMPARING STRENGTH OF 1st and 7th sign from it- Note as you go in order below and once a rule is met, you needn't go any further. (X1) If one of the above houses is with a larger number of planets ( Grahas), then that sign is the stronger. (Y1) "SWAAMI GURUJNA DRIGYOGAHA". If one of them is aspected OR CONJOINED by more out of (aa) Jupiter, (bb) Mercury and (cc) dispositor, then he is stronger. These carry equal weight. Example: Lets assume that we are considering Le & Aq(1/7). Lets also assume that Le is aspected by Ju & Aq by Me, and their lords do not aspect their respective signs. Then there is a tie. When looking for the aspect of lord/dispositor, you can settle for aspect from either lord, but you have to use the stronger lord in all other rules. (Z1) A sign with its lord in a sign with a different oddity (odd/even) is stronger than a sign with its lord in a sign with the same oddity. (Z2) A sign whose lord is more advanced in longitude from the beginning of its sign is stronger. Rahu and Ketu's advancement should be measured from the end i.e. 30degrees - the longitude of Rahu or Ketu which ever is being evaluated. This due to thier retro travel though the 12 signs or Dwadasaditya. __ Narayana Dasa Mahadasa list - Antardasa calculationswill start from Ta and run though Li.
