Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Dear Visti, <However, the reason that Sun-Jupiter yoga in the tenth gives animal-husbandry is because this gives the effects of Mercury-Rahu on the navamsa lagna itself... the principle is to count the fourth weekday (including the nodes) from both the planets; sun=mercury, and jupiter=rahu. So, if a mercury-rahu yoga emerges on the navamsa lagna itself, it will also give animal husbandry. Mercury is in the navamsa lagna and aspected by Rahu, thus confirming the case.> I know, same type of rule we use for grahas in 12th from AL. According to my understanding, this rule has very clear meaning as it shows gains/loss to the native, when he reject or ignore the "opposite" nature. And it is based on Kala Chakra. But, when we come to Navamsa, you have mentioned grahas in 10th in the Navamsa, effects to Navamsa lagna. Why it is effecting to Navamsa lagna ? Why not 11th house or 2nd house ? Also, if any grahas in 7th, how it affect to 10th house ? Can we apply the same rule ? Secondly, beneficial Grahas in the 10th, according to Parasara are Raja Yoga Karakas. Don't you think it cause some contradition here ? Perhaps I missed a lot, or misunderstood this. Could you clear this for me ? Thanks and Best Wishes Karu
Guest guest
||Hare Rama Krsna|| Dear Karu, Namaskar The dictum is given by Jaimini: Mercury in the tenth will give the same effects as Saturn. Here he is referring to the effects of Saturn on the lagna, i.e. hard working, easily adaptable and nervous in crowds. So Jaimini is saying that the planets in the tenth have an effect on the lagna... why is this? The tenth house is the strongest house in the chart, as it affects our karma yoga in this world. How we perform this karma has a deciding impact on who we are. Hence when judging the personality of the native we must always consider the tenth house as well, as that will be the mood of the person when doing their karma yoga in this world. Jaimini has through this dictum gone as far as stating the exact effect that planets in the tenth will have on our lagna. But we require a formula... i.e. why Saturns effects for Mercury in the tenth? The lagna is the fourth from the tenth house, and the parampara teaches that we must use the weekday-order, and count to the fourth weekday from the planet in the tenth. Example: the fourth weekday from Wednesday (mercury) is Saturday (lorded by Saturn), thus saturns effects come from Mercury in the tenth. Sanjayji has on a different occasion mentioned that this could be applied to the planets in the eleventh or twelfth from the navamsa lagna as well, but the planets in the tenth have the prime importance.
