Gemstone question after reading VRA - Vedic Remedies in Astrology

Dear members and gurus,

 

I am finding existing knowledge of gemstone therapy on the web to be

extremely conflicting. I asked a couple of questions earlier on this

forum and I believe the responses were leaning towards what is

mentioned on the web as " Anukul-vad " or the wearing of gemstones of

functionally benefic planets. However, on reading Sanjay Rathji's

VRA, I am again conflicted because he seems to suggest that the

RIGHT hand rules increase of life force and the LEFT hand rules

decrease of life force, so a logical conclusion from that SEEMS to

be that gems for functional benefics should be worn on the right

hand to enhance their effects and for functional malefics on the

left hand to reduce their effects. Is this conclusion correct and

what Sanjay Rathji intended to convey? It would then somewhat

contradict an association of gemologists recommendation that only

Anukul Vad is correct and not Pratikul Vad, because in VRA the

recommendation seems to be Anukul for right hand and Pratikul for

left hand.

 

Intertwined with this same point, another conflict is that many

astrologers believe that women should wear " Anukul " effect gems in

their LEFT hand, and men in their RIGHT hand. If I were to take the

VRA teaching as the correct one, it would mean that if a female

Cancer Ascendant wore a Pukhraj in the left hand, it would actually

reduce the effects of a benefic Jupiter not enhance it! What is the

correct conclusion and why?

 

Yet another level of haziness rather than conflict I find is the

finger in which a gem has to be worn. VRA says (I think) little

finger for Kama thrikona, Ring finger for Dharma thrikona, Middle

finger for Artha thrikona and Index finger for Moksha thrikona. It

recommends against putting anything on the index finger and that is

agreeably echoed by others too. But there is no clarity as to which

finger gems should be worn. Only on the finger corresponding to

trikona RULED by a planet, OR on finger corresponding to trikona

occupied by a planet, OR only on the ring finger? When would you

wear something on some finger other than the ring finger?
