Guest guest
Dear V, Our Gurus prescribe what is best for us. My experience when I started with sadhana (I have been a sadhak for around 3 yrs now...so i am still a baby though my chronological age is close to 52 yrs.) was that life changed trajectory. There was an internal turmoil which queitened in some ways and became more aggravated in other ways. Let me put it like this - the sensitivities increased. Now I am going to enter the realm of imagination and hazard some guesses which may not have any firm basis. (I am truly fond of doing this.....simply love the cartoon strip Calvin and Hobbes....if u can derive any connection.) Sadhana may lead to churning within. When this happens out comes the visha as well as the amrit. All experiences may not be pleasant. And sometimes unpleasant experiences predominate. I have heard some other people talk of this and compare their experience to being on a roller coaster. The important thing is that life speeds up and awareness increases. A guru could be compressing prarabhda in a shorter time span and therefore there could be a " crowding " of events. Or maybe, because of heightened sensitivities we react to these events with greater awareness. As I said, these may be just conjectures which may not have any basis. I wish u the very best and would advise u not to leave sadhana just because of some unpleasant experiences. BTW, I didn't understand what u meant by " soham dhyan is just for spiritual progress and does not have any worldy benefits " . All dhyana is about spiritual progress, dear. If we are in pursuit of " worldly benefits " we may have to be on a different path. Love, Vinita sohamsa , V S <asamanyna wrote: > > hi all, > I have been asked by my guru to pursue soham dhyana. Guest guest
|| Hare Rama Krishna || Dear V, namaskar. Although I am a beginner as well, I totally agree with Vinita-ji. Please continue to have faith in Guru. When we board a bus we have faith in its driver. Just because the driver decides to take a different route one day to reach the destination, we dont have to get down from the bus. Be sure that your guru is right and follow him. It is God who gives guidence through Guru. Difficulties in life are tests or hurdles that nature sometimes puts in front of us. If we don't overcome them then what's the point ? Keep faith and follow your Guru's guidence. Also try not to take second opinions from a place like a forum, or for that matter from anyone, unless you find an equally spiritually mature person as your Guru was. Always start your sadhana with a prayer to Guru so that you get continued benefit of his guidence. Guest guest
|om| Dear V, Your Guru hasnt really expired; he's simply left his body and he is always with you whenever you think of him. Remembrance of the Guru's words, constant practice of the Guru's words and reverence for the Guru is the real Guru sannidhana or service to the Guru. I suggest you do 1 mala (108 times) of the Savitur Gayatri mantra before beginning your soham dhyana. May your Guru guide you. regards Hari On 3/3/06, V S <asamanyna wrote: hi all, I have been asked by my guru to pursue soham dhyana. Guest guest
hi, Thank you all very much for the replies and your guiadance is much appreciated. A lot of things have become clearer after reading your mails and your explanations have put lot of doubts to rest. Vinitaji was asking me what I meant by 'the wordly benefits of soham dhyana'. What i meant was that other form of meditations like gayatri mantra for instance are said to be very powerful and make a person mentally n psychologically powerful and thus can be useful in daily life. But I may be entirely wrong. I was definetly wrong in saying guru had expired. I have realised from your replies that i have to put faith in my guru's word and continue with my sadhana no matter what happens in my day to day life. Thanking you all, V Mail Bring photos to life! Guest guest
+ sri gurave namah + Dear VS You have asked some very very valid questions and have also received some answers, but I think I need to add my thoughts to them. Answers are given below. With best wishes & warm regards, Yours truly Sanjay Rath Webpages: http://srath.com http://.org http://sjcerc.com Atri SJC: 15B Gangaram Hospital Road, New Delhi 110060, India Phone: +91.11.25717162 - V S [asamanyna] Friday, March 03, 2006 1:45 AMsohamsa Subject: regarding soham dhyana hi all, I have been asked by my guru to pursue soham dhyana. I have certain doubts regarding this..[s.Rath:] To doubt the words of the guru is the first folly and this shows up in any chart easily as we all have some planet lording or aspecting the ninth house from navamsa lagna. All planets excepting Jupiter are bad as they are lacking in the highest essence or truth. Even the Moon is evil as it causes the mind to go towards sexuality while the Sun can cause some kroora thoughts and ego hassles with the learning. All planets are bad when influencing the 9th house from navamsa lagna. Check your own chart and list out the planets influencing the 9th house...all these weaknesses you have to overcome. Then check if you have Jupiter aspecting or in the 9th house in navamsa...this alone is the greatest blessing in a chart. 1) I have read that soham dhyan is just for spiritual progress and does not have any worldy benefits. Is this true ? [s.Rath:] Soham dhyana is very good for spiritual and material progress. But what is importnt is to learn how to get out of the chakravyuha of meditation just as you learn how to get into it. If you get out abruptly and walk away immediately, then the agitation of the external world shall cause you to experience agitated situations in the world. If you get out slowly and allow the calmness to linger then you will find that the same calmness continues in your private life. So it is not the meditation that is disturbing private life - it is the way you get out of it or end the meditation that is disturbing private life. What you can do is to recite the 'Shanti Patha' for about 5 minutes or simply recite 'om shanti prabhu' or some other peace prayer for 5 minutes or just lie down for 5 minutes before resuming normal life. 2) I have also noticed that when ever i start a sadhana schedule (i try to do 20 mins a day) things start going horribly wrong with my personal life. When i give up sadhana things get back to normal. what is the explaination behind this ?[s.Rath:] There is nothing wrong with the Sadhana but there can be problems with the chart when you start a sadhana. There are strict rules about choosing a right muhurta for starting a sadhana. Try starting based on the following - a) Wednesday or Thursday or a festival of the mantra devata whichever is better for the chart b) Jupiter in Kendra or planet representing mantra devata in a Kendra. c) Sun should not be in 12th house d) No planets in 5th or 8th house ....these basic rules will be important while the others are not so important. My guru has now expired . But in each meeting he has always told me to pursue soham dhyana. he also taught me and gave me anugraha. [s.Rath:] What else do you need? See the use of the word 'expired' for the Guru indicates what is in the sub-conscious mind. First purify the mind by reciting the mantra - om param tattvaaya [name of guru] -aya gurubhyo namah For example a person whose Gurus name is 'Kasinatha' should recite om param tattvaaya Kashinaathaaya gurubhyo namah 108 times at least As for information about myself, I am a 26 year old man. I dont have big problems in personal life, just that i always feel im missing something in life spiritually. I will be thankful if anyone can provide answers to these 2 questions.[s.Rath:] Spouse is ardhangani - do not have two places of worship or separate meditation rooms nor must you two light two separate lamps in the house. Only one person should light the lamp and only one lamp. If separate lamps are lit or separate worship places made, then separation will occur even if this is not otherwise clearly indicated in the birth chart as this will be based on the karma of this life. Thanking you in advance. regards, V Relax. Mail virus scanning helps detect nasty viruses!
Guest guest
Respected Sanjay Ji, Sometimes, one feels that Amrita while doing Jyotish, and in that moment one is happy to be alive in a world where Vidya exists. And such Vidya. This is the feeling one got after reading your explanation. It has happened before. But it has happened now too. Perhaps, Guru in the 3rd Bhava in Navamsha in the chart is the key. Even though Moon impacts and Mangal, Budh and Ketu impact through Rashi Drishti. Once you taught in SJC Attri about the benefic role of Shubh Grahas in the 3rd House. I see charts of people who 'have it easy/ easier' and then find that Shubh Graha in the 3rd / influencing the 9th Bhava. How do these Grahas impact life in the Navamsha in a similar situation? There is a deep key here to another thing you have promised to teach. About Marana Karaka Sthana Grahas in the Varga Chakras. If Guru aspecting the 9th Bhava is the greatest blessing then the Marana Karaka Sthana cannot be that bad as this is one of the places from which it will aspect the 9th. If this is time for you to teach this, then please do. Regards. I have a few questions : (a) are we talking about rasi drishti or graha drishti ? (b) planets in 9H from navamsa Lagna shows our natural abilities/skills from past life. So they will show corresponding weaknesses as well ? Does this mean that our abilities and skill cannot be unblemised ? Secondly, does this mean the dosha or weakness is from the past life ? © what happens if this 9H from Navamsa Lagna is also Jivanmuktaamsa rasi ? Guest guest
OM NAMO BHAGVATE VASUDEVAYA Dear Sanjayji, Its funny how the first thing one does is apply a dictum to one's own chart. I felt pretty awful looking at my Navamsa to find retro Saturn and Moon in the 9th House with the direct dristi of a retro Mars from third. Thats pretty rich in terms of past life sins, I suppose. To top up things Sun is in 12th too. Then I started looking for a silver lining somewhere and found that the 9th house is lorded Jupiter (Saggi) and there is a Parivartana with 11th House where Guru sits with Shukracharya. My problem with the meditation I practise is that I cannot bring enough consciousness into it. Any hope u think? Thank you for your guidence. I have a few questions : (a) are we talking about rasi drishti or graha drishti ?[s.Rath:] Rasi drishti in Navamsa chakra (b) planets in 9H from navamsa Lagna shows our natural abilities/skills from past life. So they will show corresponding weaknesses as well ? Does this mean that our abilities and skill cannot be unblemised ? Secondly, does this mean the dosha or weakness is from the past life ?[s.Rath:] Planets in the 9H from navamsa lagna show skills that have to be learned from the Guru. The skills are there in the person and the Guru activates it - just like the Banyan tree is in the seed but with time and care it shall manifest properly. Yes the dosha of graha associated with the 9H are from a past incarnation. © what happens if this 9H from Navamsa Lagna is also Jivanmuktaamsa rasi ? This happens to be so in my case, hence the curiosity.[s.Rath:] Now now...try thinking in terms of "lessons of Ista Devata" and the Guru's teachings become even more important in your life. pranama and thanks, Sourav =================================================================================== sohamsa , "Sanjay Rath" <guruji wrote:>> > > > + sri gurave namah +> > Dear VS> You have asked some very very valid questions and have also received some> answers, but I think I need to add my thoughts to them. This information will be very helpful for me in pursuing my sadhana. regards VSSanjay Rath <guruji wrote: + sri gurave namah + Dear VS You have asked some very very valid questions and have also received some answers, but I think I need to add my thoughts to them. Try starting based on the following - a) Wednesday or Thursday or a festival of the mantra devata whichever is better for the chart b) Jupiter in Kendra or planet representing mantra devata in a Kendra. c) Sun should not be in 12th house d) No planets in 5th or 8th house ...these basic rules will be important while the others are not so important. Mail Bring photos to life! New PhotoMail makes sharing a breeze.
