Pranaam Sanjay,

The point

Please don't make me ashamed by saying " one as learned as Narasimha " .

I used to think I was learned, but I realized during the course of

writing my book that I have a lot more to learn. When I wrote in the

preface that I am a student sharing my little knowledge with fellow

students, I meant it.

For the benefit of others, I will write a little more about my

bafflement and Sanjay's clarification.

In his article on Dr.M.M. Joshi's D-10 Narayana dasa, Sanjay

calculated Aq's D-10 Narayana dasa to start from Jan 2001. I pointed

out that the version of software he used ignored the exaltation of

Ketu and asked if the date should be changed to Jan 2002 because Sc

dasa would be one year longer. Sanjay then wrote, " based on Vimsottari

dasa and other dasas, I timed the raja yoga from Sept 2001. Narayana

dasa was off and I was baffled about it. You are right. Aq dasa

starts in Jan 2002. Now it all makes perfect sense. Raja yoga will

start from Sept 2001. "

I was completely baffled by this on 2 counts:

(1) If a Narayana dasa giving raja yoga starts in Jan 2002, why will

raja yoga start from Sept 2001? Why was Sanjay more comfortable with

Aq dasa starting from Jan 2002 instead of Jan 2001 if other dasas

shows raja yoga from Sept 2001?

(2) Sanjay timed a raja yoga from Sept 2001 based on Vimsottari dasa.

How? Using 360-degree years (which Sanjay uses), Jupiter-Saturn

antardasa runs from Sept 30, 1999 to April 9, 2002. Saturn is lagna

lord aspecting GL in rasi chart and a yogada. But, how does Sanjay

get a raja yoga from Sept 2001?

Sanjay clarified:

(1) A raja yoga giving Narayana dasa starts giving its effects from

one year before. So Aq dasa from Jan 2002 starts functioning from Jan

2001. When Sun transits in own rasi Leo, he aspects GL in natal D-10

(Li) and occupies GL in natal D-1 (Le). This activates the raja yoga.

Sun's transit is important for power.

(2) Makara Sani usually gives results in the third part. Moreover,

Saturn is in the 3rd drekkana of Makara (Cp) here. He is yogada and

he gives raja yoga in the last one-third of his antardasa. So the

raja yoga given in his antardasa is given roughly from Sept/Oct 2001!!

I was very thrilled to listen to such sharp and clear reasoning from

Gurudeva and I hope so are others.

> why I had predicted something about Dr.M.M.Joshi in September 2001

when none

> of the Dasa start near this time. My clarification telephonically

was

> " Almost all Jyotisha think that Rajyoga begin with the start of a

sub-period

> and end with the ending of one. This notion built due to improper

teaching

> or training is fixed deep inside the mind and is wrong. Maharishis

have

> given us various tools to determine whether the planet shall give

its

> results in the begining (1-3antardasa), middle (4-6antardasa) or end

> (7-9antardasa). "

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha
