Guest guest
om namo bhagavate vasudevayaDear Hari There was nothing secretive about Shirdi Baba. His life was an open book and he was far too straight forward - the kind that would be Sagittarius lagna. However in this group we have a very funny astrologer guru from Serbia who also has dhanus lagna with guru and ketu in 10th house, so I am unable to accept Dhanus lagna as well. Saurav's point about Siva yoga is well taken, but I don't think Shirdi Baba had any scholarship of any kind or did he? Guest guest
|| Hare Rama Krishna ||Dear Sanjay-ji, Pranaam. To me, with my very limited understanding, Siva yoga seems to indicate the level of maturity of Jeevatman and not perhaps scholarship in the pedantic sense. Such a soul with such a strong Siva yoga from Kaarakaamsa is like the mouth of a spring near the surface of the earth -- a slight hint will enable them to issue forth the sping of water (knowledge). Kindly teach me.However, it all depends on the accuracy of the date and time. I am keenly following this discussion.Best regards,Sourav============================================================================sohamsa , "Sanjay Rath" <guruji@s...> wrote:>> > om namo bhagavate vasudevaya> Dear Hari> There was nothing secretive about Shirdi Baba. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna PRanam Guruji, Sorry to but in, but regarding ShivaYoga in Baba's chart, my understanding is, ShivYoga will indicates His knowledge akin to Shiva i.e. of Guru , who we describe as " Kevalam Gyaanmurtim " and " Triguna Rahitam " having the knowledge of " Satya " . And if I'm not wrong Shri SaiBaba is well known for same reason !! Do this knoweldge needs scholarship? Secondly Baba is knowing Ayurveda and gives sonamukhi, etc to many people besides his vibhutii initially but along with some restrictions on diet. A Vaidya of shirdi (Kulkarni) don't like this and done some mischief with faith of innocent people, which is like inviting the death and hence Baba started to use Vibhutii as medicine. But who knows what he puts in to his Dhoonii to made his Vibhutii??? Secondly his dear shishya DasGanu Maharaj have mentioned in ShriGajananvijay Grantha (of Shri Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon/Shivagaon) that Baba followed Gyaanmarga. I think this can't be achieved without Shivayoga and yours mentioned " Scholarship " !! These are just free thoughts and pls correct me where ever I'm wrong. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste Guruji, Sourav ji and Vinay ji, Indeed Sai baba is widely known for his Brahma / atma gynana and known for his healing powers too. There are instances given in Sai Satcharitra where Baba had prescribed totally unheard of and improbable medications for certain diseases and still managed to cure the Ill. It is also stated that the same remedy failed to work for the same person, when applied without Baba's blessings. The healing happened because Baba willed it so and not because of the medications he prescribed. It is because of his tremendous Vak-suddhi. I would look at moon, (2nd lord from chandra lagna) his AK for his healing powers as moon rules oshadhis and at Venus, the mrityunjaya, his 2nd and 9th lord from lagna. Moon is vargottama, as is Venus. Venus is combined with Mercury, lord of Karakamsa, in navamsa. There is a gyana yoga listed by Dr. Raman, which says that if the 2nd lord is in the navamsa of Mercury the man becomes a versatile genius. Ofcourse, he also says that Jupiter and Venus should be in kendras. In Baba's chart Jupiter and Venus are not in kendras from lagna/moon, but they are in kendras from each other. This is also the 9th house from AK and is the house of Dharma devata. Kumbha also contains A8. It also indicates, being co-lorded by Rahu and Saturn, the seamless integration of hindu and muslim philosophies that Baba remarkably achieved and adopted as his dharma. I also urge you to look at the vimsamsa...kumbha is where Moon(AK) is placed and it is the 2nd house. Talking of shuddhi also brings us to the topic of yoga. Baba was a master of yoga and his great gynana and powers are a direct manifestation of his supremacy of yogic practices. Sai Satcharitra relates Baba practising " dhouti " , a yogic ritual where even the internal organs, like lungs and intestines are thoroughly cleaned. In the Dhyana sloka preambling " Devi Khadgamala " , Mother is described as " Dhoutaa " ...meaning one who is extremely pure. The very next name that follows is " Trinetrojwalaam " ....indicating that great vision/knowledge/power follows internal shuddhi. I am sure Baba, who is revered as " Yogi Raja " , wanted to ram home this point. In Baba's chart, Saturn, his 5th lord, is in scorpio, and this combination is a sure sign of yogic siddhi, other features in the horoscope supporting it. This can be seen in the horoscope of Satya Sai Baba and Sri Krishna too. In the D-16, D-20 and D-24 charts, one can see Saturn directly involved with combined nodes...and I found during my humble researches that such planets direct/disposit the kundalini power of the individual. The Sun-Jupiter parivartana/sambandha also indicates knowledge of Bhagavad gita as demonstrated by Baba. BTW, there is an important " brick " in Baba's life. when the brick broke, Baba interpreted it as a sign to shed his body. The brick is supposed to have been given by Venkusa to Baba, who remained very attached to it. Is Mars the karaka for the " brick " ? Just a few thoughts of mine. Sorry for burdening you all with my long mail. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear All, I forgot to mention, that Saturn is both the 5 & 6th lord,(also lord of a8), and is in the 3rd house and the 3rd lord Mars is with Mercury, (lagna/Moon lord) and aspects the lagna. Isn't that a dhimanta yoga..in a roundabout way? But then, that had been Baba's persona all along...outwardly a humble fakir, but inwardly a great gynani. Guest guest
||om gam gajavaktraaya namah|| Dear Sanjay & Smt Lakshmi, namaste & pranaams. Lakshmi: The source of my information as can be expected is an English version of Guru Charitra published by Jaico which I picked up at a book exhibition recently. Some points:- Information revealed by Sri Satya Sai Baba. Any reason to doubt it and prefer Rama Navami instead? It looks like you favor the Rama Navami version with Virgo Lagna. In Sep 28, 1838 version (Scorpio Lagna), you second-guessed me by pointing out that Mars in AL is probably indicative of his sudden bouts of anger. Do you think that Saturn in Scorpio Lagna (Brahmana yoga?) is a better indication of the link between Sri Satya Sai and Sri Shirdi Sai? Other points such as UL etc. will revert later. Sanjay: Besides the funny jyotisa guru from Serbia, do you know a fellow called Sarajit Poddar? For a Dhanus lagna person, he is a past master at hiding his true feelings. Compared to him, I with Scorpio Lagna, am an open book!!! Ramadas' email on this topic is another nimitta that Scorpio Lagna should be seriously considered. This is in addition to the nimitta that I observed. Consider the African villages or kraals...some village elder is often entrusted with the task of teaching the children there. Would you then say that the children have no education? As per Guru Charitra, Shirdi Sai Baba is considered to be an incarnation of Dattatreya and in a lineage starting from Dattatreya. Sripad Vallabha --> Narasimha Saraswati ---> Akalkot Maharaj ---> Shirdi Sai Baba ---> Satya Sai Baba ---> Prem Sai Baba. Does the Siva yoga fit here? Shirdi Sai was brought up by a Sufi Fakir and later at the ashram of a learned pandita called Venkusha. Can you say then that he had no education? What do you mean by saying that his life was an open book? Nobody in Shirdi knew where he came from, how he was born, his Guru etc. He was given to towering fits of rage during which time no one dared to approach him. He often talked in riddles, the meaning of which was understood only by the person whom Baba intended it for. As pointed out by Lakshmi, he demonstrated knowledge of the scriptures (Koran and Bhagavad Gita) whenever it was called for. He was a trikalagyani. Please educate and correct me. regards Hari On 11/14/05, Sanjay Rath <guruji wrote: om namo bhagavate vasudevayaDear Hari There was nothing secretive about Shirdi Baba. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste Hari, Hari: - Information revealed by Sri Satya Sai Baba. Any reason to doubt it and prefer Rama Navami instead? Lakshmi: Me doubting the info given by Satya Sai! My observation is based on a book i read in Telugu(I can give the correct reference when i go to Hyderabad, because I left the book there at my home). Further, Sri Ramanavami is celebrated in Shirdi and every year a wheat bag (100kgs)is kept aside and it would be exchanged for a new one on the Ramanavami day. The wheat in the old bag is distributed. you can still see the bag enclosed in a glass case in Shirdi. I have not observed Aswayuja shukla navami being celebrated in Shirdi. I have not come across any such reference also in Sai satcharitra. The important day during dassehra is Vijayadasami day when Baba left his body. Hari: - It looks like you favor the Rama Navami version with Virgo Lagna. Lakshmi: I do, because virgo lagna, with its earthy flavour and emphasis on purity, especially with Ketu in it, indicates to Baba to me. There is a debate whether the nodes can participate in Parivrajya yoga, but I to the view that if the nodes, the very cause of rebirth, are involved in spiritual yogas, then there is nothing better. Hari: - In Sep 28, 1838 version (Scorpio Lagna), you > second-guessed me by pointing out that Mars in AL is probably indicative of his sudden bouts of anger. Lakshmi: My feeling is that Moon as AK itself can bestow that kind of behaviour...waxing and waning. Baba's words (only words)were occasionally harsh and fiery...but only when he wanted to teach/correct. But he was also very compassionate at the same time. Vide Sai Satcharitra Baba once said that the ocean had never in anger refused the rivers to mingle with it and sent them back, similarly Baba was /is never angry with people. Hari: - Do you think that Saturn in Scorpio Lagna > (Brahmana yoga?) is a better indication of the link between Sri Satya Sai and Sri Shirdi Sai? Lakshmi: Saturn in scorpio is definitely a link between Shirdi Sai and Satya Sai. Scorpio is the third house from the lagna and can indicate death brick/next incarnation. I also feel that Prema Sai's (coming incarnation) lagna could be capricorn with Jupiter in it. Waiting for your comments. Guest guest
|| Pahi maam Bhagavan Datta|| Dear Hari, Just a little correction for GuruCharitra, It's ShriDatta avatara katha , Shripaadshrivallabh and Shri NrusimhaSaraswati Swami Maharaj who left for ShriShailyam or KardaliVana and Shri AkkalkotaSwami Maharaj is consider as continuation of ShriNrusimhaSaraswati Swamimaharaj. But GuruCharitra ends with NrusimhaSaraswati Swami Maharaj only!! No mention of further lineage. Atleast in original marathi it's not mentioned!! What you have written are just outcomes of faith of people but may be reality!! or may not be!! Gurucharitra is final word for ShriDatta Sampradaya and a very powerful grantha, no one is ever allowded to add/edit anything in it!! Forget about other things!! Still if you go to Nrusimhawadi near Kolhapur, you may come to know about DattaMaharaj himself as he's chiranjiva avatar (immortal)!!! Regarding Baba have you visited AbdulBaba's place in Shirdi? Heard of shriVasudevanandsaraswati (Tembe) Swami Maharaj?? Anyhow I'm sorry for non-astrological stuff. But before leaving, one more ans to your doubt, you know what Akkalkot Maharaj keep on chanting?? " Shiva Har Shankar Namaami Shankar ShivaShankar Shambho| He Girijaapate Bhavaani Shankar Shiva Shankar Shambho|| " Regarding baba's life story, very few knows about Babas panchayatan (Five brothers)even, forget about other things?? It's definately not a open story!! Agree with you. As you know me well and my intentions , hope you will not mind this preaching, but can't resist myself. Guest guest
om gam gajavaktraaya namah Dear Lakshmi, Vinay & Sanjay, namaste Vinay: I accept what you are saying. Guru Charitra is no doubt a source of spiritual strength. Quite a few nuggets hidden in this book! Lakshmi: From now onwards, in this discussion, I suggest you write your comments with respect to Rama Navami version of 1838 while I write mine with respect to Sep 28, 1838. AL/UL in 2/12 position, UL in 8th from Lagna and 2nd from UL having malefic Mars that too debilitated! Karaka for UL (Ju) is combust. AK (Mo) - AmK (MeR) involved in charakaraka replacement which suggests the timing at around 16 years (Moon) or 1854. In 1857, he returned permanently to Shirdi. Sanjay: Had a look at Jataka Parijata III - 63 to 67. Case for Dhanus lagna: rising sign with Moon in it and Saturn in 12th gives birth in a 'secret' place. Here secret place can be interpreted to be a lonely place such as a forest etc. Case for Scorpio lagna: Rising sign being a watery sign with Saturn in it and aspected by Sun/Mercury/Moon gives the place of birth accordingly. Here Mars aspects lagna by rasi dristi while Rahu from Meena aspects it by graha dristi. Does this confirm birth in a forest under a banyan tree? Is a banyan tree a religious place? If yes, co-lagna lord (Ketu) is conjunct Jupiter. Yoga for abandonment by mother: For this Moon should be in trines to Saturn and Mars while being in 7th. This can only happen if Moon is conjunct Saturn and lagna is Taurus thereby suggesting birth some one/two days before Sep 28. regards Hari
Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Hari, Namaste. AL/UL in 2/12 position, UL in 8th from Lagna and 2nd from UL having malefic Mars that too debilitated! Karaka for UL (Ju) is combust.Lakshmi: That's a very good point about UL being in the 8th house. But will UL in the 8th house and debilitated planet in the 2nd from UL deny marriage altogether? I think what 's imperiled is the sustenance/longevity of marriage/spouse according to Jaimini Upadesa sutras. Secondly, Sun and Ketu are never malefic for matters relating to marriage. And, isn't there a parivartana between Mercury and Sun? I also have AL/UL in 2/12 position, Venus debilitated in 2nd from UL, and my 7th lord Mercury is severely combust. Yet, with Mother's grace I have been happily married for the last 20 years...because of aspect of Jupiter on UL, the strength of UL lord himself and UL being in the 9th house. I think in your chart of Baba two saving graces are applicable. Jupiter might be combust, but his rasi aspect continues to be beneficial. AK (Mo) - AmK (MeR) involved in charakaraka replacement which suggests the timing at around 16 years (Moon) or 1854. In 1857, he returned permanently to Shirdi. Lakshmi: Yes, you are right. He was first sighted, lost in meditation under a neem tree, when he was 16 years of age. Moon-Mercury again! In my chart of Baba, 1854 gives me AK kendraadi rasi dasa of Ge-Cp, which is karakamsa-8th from karakamsa both in rasi and navamsa. In Moola dasa(because it is some past karma/commitment that made Baba choose Shirdi as his karmabhoomi), the period corresponds to Merc-Moon/Ketu and one can see the connection in D-4. Saturn in 3rd house (scorpio) as circumstances of death also appeals to me because Baba had given up his life in exchange for life of Tatya, his devotee. Saturn is the 5th lord. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Rema ji, Namaste. Please read Svayambu ji's mail/links. They have given a lot of good information about Baba's life. Though Baba came to Shirdi for good when he was 20yrs old and he was immediately perceived as a great mystic only by a few enlightened souls. There were quite a few sceptics who doubted and tested him, but were ultimately convinced about the divinity of Baba. Baba used to enjoy wrestling and once he was defeated by another guy in wrestling. This event is said to have brought about a great change in Baba's outlook/philosophy and he also adopted his famous dress of wearing a kaphni and tying a cloth around his head around this time. But the most important event in the period you mentioned could be the dissociation of body and soul Baba demonstrated on Margasira Pournami. there can't be a greater example of his yogic powers. regards, Lakshmi Rema Menon <remamenon wrote: Hare Rama Krishna, Namaste Lakshmi ji, Do you have any information about Baba's life while he was 25 to 42. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Hari, Baba always sat opposite "dhuni"... a fire/agnihotra he maintained throughout his life. He always urged people to immolate their desires in that fire. Do you think that "dhuni" could be Pisces (moksha) with Sun, Mars (fire) and Mercury & rahu (immolation of earthly desires). Baba's association with vibhuti is famous...which planet represents "Oodi" ( sacred ash)? Ketu? Regards, Lakshmi lakshmi ramesh <b_lakshmi_ramesh wrote: Om Gurave Namah Dear Hari, Namaste. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna, Namaste Lakshmi ji, I have heard about the Para Kaya Pravesh of Baba, I hope that is what you mean by dissosiation of body and soul. I was wondering if He had any ailments or something signifying the combustion of Lagna Lord. Probably He could overcome it, but then how did the lagna Lord combustion manifest during its dasa. Thanks Rema --- lakshmi ramesh <b_lakshmi_ramesh wrote: > Om Gurave Namah > > Dear Rema ji, > > Namaste. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste Rema ji, It is said that Baba suffered from asthma. if i may offer a small amendment, "parakaya pravesh" is leaving one's body in order to enter someone else's body...but I don't think Baba entered any other body. He left his. That's all. Regards, Lakshmi Rema Menon <remamenon wrote: Hare Rama Krishna, Namaste Lakshmi ji, I have heard about the Para Kaya Pravesh of Baba, I hope that is what you mean by dissosiation of body and soul. Guest guest
om gam gajavaktraaya namah Dear Smt Lakshmi, namaste At the outset, I wish to caution against drawing parallels between the charts we are discussing and our own natal charts. My reply to some of your points:- AL/UL discussion with reference to your chart: Hold on! Doesnt Jaimini Maharishi say first benefics, then malefics and then debilitation? I didnt talk about Sun/Ketu, did I? Saturn in 3rd house (scorpio) as circumstances of death: I thought that this was shown by the 3rd house from AL/A7, whichever is stronger. In the chart suggested by me, Ju (besides Sun/Ketu) is in the 3rd from AL indicating that Shirdi Sai Baba was aware of how he would die and as we know, that is narrated in Sai Charitra. Regarding dhuni / vibhuti, will revert later...I prefer to see if the chart reflects the circumstances of his birth first before proceeding with further analysis and I hope Sanjay will give his opinions / corrections. best regards Hari
Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Hari, Namaste. My intention in drawing a parallel is only to show that exceptions do occur. You did mention the combustion of Ju (as karaka for UL) in your previous mail, hence my comment about Sun and Ketu. Further, yes, Jaimini does talk about benefics first, but then debilitated Venus (kalatra karaka) when talking specifically about UL does gain more significance than any other benefic/malefic/planet, I guess:--)). And, 2nd house is always about sustenance or marakatwa, indicating that first a particular event has to happen, then only the 2nd house will come into play. For a non-event what relevance does the 2nd house have? Similarly, if marriage itself does not happen, what relevance does 2nd from UL have? In the chart drawn by me, jupiter is in 3rd from AL and in 12th house from lagna too! I am sure you've heard of the dictum that whatever is applicable from the lagna is applicable from AL and the converse is also true. Further Baba was a trikaalagyaani, and being aware of his death was part of that gynaana. In the chart drawn by me Jupiter is in gopura-amsa and that's a criteria for trikaalagyaana, as mentioned in "300 important combinations" by Dr. Raman. Further, Baba was a jeevanmukta and life or death have no impact on him. He lives on. Thanks for this lovely discussion. Regards, Lakshmi Jyotisa Shisya <achyutagaddi wrote: om gam gajavaktraaya namah Dear Smt Lakshmi, namaste At the outset, I wish to caution against drawing parallels between the charts we are discussing and our own natal charts.
