discussion on RATNA versus UpaRATNA, letâ€™s refer to GaruÃ²a PurÄÃ«a

Chapter 70, slokas 7-8

I need your

honest opinion and translation especially on sloka 8.

kaguÃ±jÄsakalendragopajavÄsamÄsá¹›ksamavará¹‡aÅ›obhÄá¸¥|

bhrÄjiá¹£á¹‡avo dÄá¸imabÄ«javará¹‡ÄstathÄpare kiÅ›ukapuá¹£pabhÄsaá¸¥|70|7

Meaning: some of the rubies are associated with the

earthy red ochre (colour; as in guÃ¯jÄ

berry); vermillion, red lotus, saffron; some have the colour of lÄkÃ±a juice.

Although the re colour has uniformity, the centre has a special manifest

brillliance which makes the ruby self luminous.

à¤¸à¤®à¤¾à¤¨à¤µà¤°à¥à¤£à¤ƒà¥¤

khindurapadmotpalakuá¹…kumÄnÄá¹ lÄká¹£ÄrasasyÄpi samÄnavará¹‡aá¸¥|

sÄá¹dre â€˜pi rÄge prabhayÄ

svayaiva bhÄnti svalaká¹£yÄá¸¥ sphuá¹amadhyaÅ›obhÄá¸¥||70|8

Meaning: Some of these rubies

which appear to be the same as that of the lÄkÃ±Ä hue (in

close proximity) are also endowed with the all good qualities of the ruby that

reflect and refract the rays of the Sun, illuminating all the surrounding

objects.
