Guest guest
Dear Ramadas-ji, Sanjay-ji and other Gurus The sandhi shanti dicussion has been really enlightening. I had been searching for some information because a priest recommended the Kuja- Rahu shanti for a relative. My question in this regard is that does this have to be performed even if the the planets concerned are well placed in the rasi chart ? For example I'm currently running Rahu dasa (going into Jupiter). Rahu is in the first house with dispositor venus in the 11th Leo and Jupiter is retrograde in the 6th house Pisces (own house). In this case is sandhi shanti required ? Guest guest
om namo näräyaëäya Dear Svayambu Ji, If you ask me,my answer is yes. Both Rahu and Guru are enemic to each other. Both are in 6-8 to each other.Actually Sandhi Shanti has to be performed atleast 6 months before starting of Guru Dasa.If you delay this time period, you may experience a little of this Dasa Sandhi. Here the main ptoblem is the health problem. Here I am quoting my own example. When Guru Dasa started in 4/7/1973 ( using 360 Savana days per year ),my parents forgot to perform the Sandhi Shanti for Rahu-Brihaspati.I can say that it was written in my fate that I had to suffer.Guru's Antara was till 11/8/1975.In my chart,Lagna is Makara with Chandra there, Rahu and vargothama Shukra in 2nd house and Ravi,Budha and Vargothama Guru in 3rd house. So both the planets are in 2-12 to each other.See that Rahu is with Yoga Karaka Shukra who is very strong in the chart but still its after effects are shown in Guru Dasa -Guru's Antara. As per my rememberance, around 1st week of March 1975,I got a sudden attack of Chicken-Pox and suffered severely for about 2 months with complete bed rest. This is for your information. In order to aviod severe health problems, it is better to perform Sandhi Shanti as prescribed by the priest. I hope this helps you. My teacher hails from Karnataka (Dakshina Kannada), so I asked him about this puja yesterday. He told me that this puja is very commonly performed there. Without asking, he himself mentioned that this puja is normally performed only if the grahas in question are ill-placed. By way of introduction, he hails from a traditional havyaka family. His brother is a practicing Jyotisha, and his nephew is a veda pandit. The clear impression I got from him, and from the mail thread on this list, is that this puja is not a cheap affair. It requires a large number of priests, as well as a large number of dravyas. This may explain why it is not always performed for each member of the family. ajit sohamsa [sohamsa ] On Behalf Of Ramadas Rao Wednesday, November 09, 2005 6:11 AM sohamsa Re: Is Sandhi Shanti always required ? om namo näräyaëäya Dear Svayambu Ji, If you ask me,my answer is yes. Guest guest
... hamsasso.aham .. Dear Ramadas, Unfortunately, whenever I reply to your mails, I seem to give you the impression that I am “questioning you”. Nowhere did I mention anything about sandhi shanti being a waste of money. I am only pointing out the practical problems. Since you yourself recently pointed out that you are a practical person, I wrote a practical point. Secondly, I very clearly mentioned that these are the views of my teacher. So far, I thought you might like to discuss. However, it seems you have already discussed for 20 years, and now want to teach the knowledge. I am sorry and will keep my mouth closed. Lastly, it is safe to say that everytime a sandhi shanti is not performed, someone dies not die. These is no doubt whatsoever that the sandhi shanti should be performed when possible, and must be performed when the planetary positions warrant it. I am sorry for chiming in over the last few days. I will return to my other work. Guest guest
om namo näräyaëäya Dear Ajith, I feel you have mistaken me.If you read my 1st mail in this thread, then you would not have written like this.I never wrote that Sandhi Shanti has to be performed for every change in Dasa.It is only for Kuja-Rahu,Rahu-Brihaspati and Shukra-Arka if these planets are 2-12 or 6-8 to each other, then Sandhi Shanti Homam if done removes the evil of this Dasa Sandhi. In 3 cases, the Kendra placement of these planets gave some health problems during the beginning of the next planetary Dasa. Now whether if a person does these remedies, depends on his Karmas and I can not say nothing more.If he wants to perform such remedies in his life time, then God will arrange sufficient finance to perform them, otherwise not. His brother is a practicing Jyotisha, and his nephew is a veda pandit. The clear impression I got from him, and from the mail thread on this list, is that this puja is not a cheap affair. It requires a large number of priests, as well as a large number of dravyas. This may explain why it is not always performed for each member of the family. ajit sohamsa [sohamsa ] On Behalf Of Ramadas RaoWednesday, November 09, 2005 6:11 AMsohamsa Subject: Re: Is Sandhi Shanti always required ? om namo näräyaëäya Dear Svayambu Ji, If you ask me,my answer is yes. I had been searching for some information because a priest recommended the Kuja-Rahu shanti for a relative. My question in this regard is that does this have to be performed even if the the planets concerned are well placed in the rasi chart ?For example I'm currently running Rahu dasa (going into Jupiter). Rahu is in the first house with dispositor venus in the 11th Leo and Jupiter is retrograde in the 6th house Pisces (own house). In this case is sandhi shanti required ?Full positions in Rasi:Lagna: Libra1st: Ra, Su 6th: Ju 7th: Ke 8th: Mo 9th: Ma 10th:Sa 11th:Ve 12th: Me Thanks again Enjoy this Diwali with Y!
