Dear Souvik,

Your endeavor is certainly worthwhile and necessary. If part of your 'discussion' includes the review of this material using gender neutral language you have 100% of my support. Parasara stated very clearly, that everything he spoke of applied to both genders yet this fact will continue to be ignored so long as language gender neutral language is ignored.

If there is a way I can help you with your goal, please notify me.

Regards,

Phyllis

So Phyllis, female horoscopy is bollocks? Principles are gender-

neutral, but to the extent applicable.

I don't recall much astro but I think the 7th indicates spouse for

males whereas it's the 8th for females (long-term woe ;)). You can't

neutrally talk of matters such as menstruation, conception and

pregnancy either. Gender-neutrality in astro is analogous to medicine,

but there will be gynecologists. There are enough statistical and

other studies that establish marked differences between genders -

longevity, for example. Women on an average live longer by about 7%,

and this figure is around 11% for East Asians.

Also remember that when Parasara was around, the Indian social scene

was pretty much settled in the sense that you didn't have people of

various classifications treading on each others' toes; else the

references to kshatriyas, sudras, etc. would've meant little. The same

applied to the role of women. This was in fact the case with most of

the earliest civilizations; feminist activists rejecting objective

truth is only a very recent phenomenon.
