Pranaam Gurudeva,

I read about an old astrologer who predicts marriage based

just on navamsa's ashtakavarga. That set me thinking whether

we could find ashtakavarga in divisional charts.

As I read Parasara carefully, I became convinced that we

could. Though the Sage did not explicitly mention AV of

vargas, he did not rule it out. In fact, if one says that

matters related to wives are seen in navamsa and later

talks about timing events related to wives using

ashtakavarga and sodhya pindas, it is obvious (to me) that

the ashtakavarga and sodhya pindas must be of navamsa.

As long as we treat divisional charts with respect and

look at the positions of planets w.r.t. lagna, Moon,

arudha lagna etc, it makes sense to look at planetary

positions w.r.t. other planets too. That is what

ashtakavarga is all about.

For example, Parasara clearly taught that a house is

strong if it has 30 or rekhas in SAV. He also taught that

the 5th house is important for power. SAV os Vajpayee's

rasi chart has only 24 rekhas in 5th house. Why does he

enjoy such power? Because the 5th in D-10 SAV has 30!

Bill Gates has a very successful career (that affected

millions of careers in world!) and obviously his 10th

house must be strong in SAV. But 10th in rasi SAV has

only 27 rekhas (average). Why did he have a good career?

Well, D-10 SAV has 33 rekhas in 10th! (The 6th house in

D-10 also has 33 rekhas and he has strong enemies in his

career!)

One can find thousands of examples where AV and SAV of

divisional charts let us explain known facts without

bending backwards.

I made some arguments above. But, with your blessings and

more inspiration coming to me in meditation, I will try

to make much more convincing and logical arguments in my

book.

Your sishya,

Narasimha
