Dear Panditji,

 

Pranams! Dandavats! Thank you for your help. I am a little confused when

you say that the Arudha can never be in the 1st or 7th from the bhava. Do

you mean Bhava Chakra? Or do you mean you count the number of rasis away

from the lagna lord and the supposed Arudha Lagna lands in either the 1st or

7th house of the rasi, then count ten houses from that to find the actual

Arudha Lagna?

Dear Patrice,

There are two riders for this. The Arudha can never be in the 1st or 7th

house from the Bhava. Jaimini says " Swasthe Daraha " and " Sutasthe Janma "

Refer my work on the Jaimini Sutra. Thus use the 10th house from the sign

arrived at as the actual ARUDHA LAGNA.

Thanks for your post. As a beginner, I guess I continue to be confused by

Arudha Lagna. Discussions and posts have included it often in the past few

months and it seems to definitely cast more light on the chart.

 

What I find describing " Arudha Lagna " in Light on Life, by Defouw and

Svoboda, states it as " When you count the number of rashis the lagna lord

has gone from the lagna, and then count that same number again from the

lagna lord, in the natural direction of constellations, the result is the

Arudha Lagna. " And the book goes on to give an example of the above.

 

In your example, I would have thought the seventh house with Makara to be

the Arudha Lagna of Prince Charles chart. Can you help direct me here?
