Now, for each of the points mentioned, it would be very helpful if the reasons for the same are also given. For exanple, Sat Siri says that in Scorpio Lagna is very strong willed. This determination or stubbornness (these are only different colors of a basic trait of fixity of thought) is due to the tenth house being a fixed sign. One thing I wanted to mention is that the mere list of lagnas in the rasi chart does not seem to explain the features found in the native. I don't think to paraphrase what any of the great classical texts says about those lagnas and that house distribution set would actually match the data. I may be wrong, though. Lagna = Cn, Paka-lagna = Aq, Surya-lagna = Cn, Arudha-lagna = Vi. Ayurveda: Pitta-Vata or Vata-pitta (as measured by various ayurveda practitioners over the years), with long-standing Kapha disorders. Kapha, however, usually does not show up in the pulses. Gurudev Sanjay, Though I have been horribly late in responding, please find my inputs on the characteristics assignment. With due respect to your time and effort, please correct me if you can! 1. Physical Appearance Cancer ascendant. Cancer is represented by Crab. Crab has a larger body vis-a-vis other parts of the body. Thus the torso of the body is larger than the head and the limbs. As in crab, both the arms and legs are long and thin vis-a-vis the middle portion of the body. The colour of the skin would be decided by the placement of the moon vis-a vis the sun. The moon in the brighter half of its cycle would give a fairer or wheatish skin depending on its proximity to Poornima position. People born in the darker half would be most probably darker, unless there are planets like Jupiter in the ascendant. Being a watery sign, the person would be percieved as moody. 2. Personality Personality would come from the ascendant as well as the second house. The ascendant dictates the appearance and the immediate perception. The second house rules the speech and would contribute towards the perception. Leo is a fiery sign in the second house to the cancer ascendant and would give the person the energy to speak fluently, and at times diplomatically or tactfully. 3. Traits to be corrected Cancer ascendant, neing moody and sensitive is susceptible to picking up unnecassary disturbances from others. This gives rise to anxiety, restlessness and mental fickle ness. Meditation is the best way to drain the disturbances picked up through out the day. Praying to ones Ishta Devta is another way of correcting this trait to some extent. 4. Professions Aries occupies the tenth house. Mars the owner of this house also owns the Fifth house for cancer ascendant. To benefit completely from the raja yogakaraka mars, the person would be best suited in occupations which are closely related to his education (or rather higher education since 4th house refers to basic education). Professions would include Engineering (mars). Mars indicates engineering fields of mechanical, electrical, civil engineering. Mars linked to some other planets would alter this however, for e.g., Mars-Venus conjunction would show softer engineering fields such as Computer Science, Instrumentation. Other professions would include accounting, medicine (surgery), farming, construction. 5. Business and Finances Business would be seen from the seventh house. Saturn is the owner of the 7th and 8th house (2nd from 7th house). Thus the business prospects and its benefits would be driven by Saturn. Capricorn is a stable sign requiring hard work to be successful in this sign. Slow and well established lines of business are indicated by Capricorn. Finances would be seen from 2nd house, Leo Sign 5th house, Scorpio to indicate gains from education 8th house, Aquarius to indicate gains from business 11th house, Taurus to indicate gains from occupation. 6. Ideal Match The ascendant is Cancer ruled by Moon, whereas the 7th house is capricorn ruled by Saturn. Thus there is a natural imbalance as far as marriage is concerned. 7. Romance & Marriage Romance is seen from the 5th house Scorpio. (I have not been able to completely grasp Sanjayji's remarks on this area in his previous mails, however,..) There is once again a strong imbalance as far as romance and marriage go. Romance governed by Scorpio ruled by Mars is likely to be covert. However, marriage is indicated by Capricorn ruled by Saturn. As Mars and Capricorn are first class enemies, generally romance and marriage would not go together. I believe that houses alone would not completely indicate romance and marriage. 8. Relationship and sex Relationship is seen from 7th house. Capricorn would bestow hard earned (need to build credibilty over a long period of time) long time friends/partners. As 7th house is owned by Saturn, there is a likelihood of disparateness between the native and the partners. Most often they would be older than the native, or would be older looking, or from other totally disparate Kula or lineage. Sex as seen from the 5th house alone would be forceful. However 7th house indicates the partner to be stable and less demonstrative. Thus, there might be a mis-match in preferences. 9. Domestic Environment 4th house indicates domestic environment. Venus the ruler of Libra gives a comfortable house and amenities as far as environment is concerned. 10. Health Health is ruled by ascendant and influenced by 6th house (Sagittarius-Jupiter) and 8th house owner (Aquarius-Saturn) Rogesh. 11. Hobbies 3rd house or Virgo indicates hobbies. Virgo is an intellectual sign and suggests evolved likings. Being a dual sign indicates multiple hobbies. 12. Moods Moods are indicated by Moon itself and for a Cancer ascendant, the person would be more suscpetible to Moons movements. 13. Fabrics Tasteful clothes are bestowed by venus. I am not sure which house indicate clothes however! 14. Furniture choice Libra, in 4th would bestow taste as far as furniture in the house is concerned. 15. Music I am not sure, which of the 2nd or 3rd house would have the final say in deciding the music appreciation and singing talents. 16. Safety/Daring Seen from the 3rd house. Mercury the owner of the 3rd house indicates a cautious nature. Discretion is best advised for cancer ascendant. 17. Herbs No idea on herbs. 18. Lucky Day Indicated by 9th house: Thursday However, most importants work would get done on Tuesday, the rajayogakaraka planet,s day. 19. Lucky Colors Yellow as indicated by 9th owner Jupiter. 20. I was held up tightly with my office work. My Lagna is Libra. 1. Physical Appearance Fat. Well built. Rough/Dry hair. 2. Personality Imaginative, intutive, impatient, questioning nature. I generally start any thing with a bit of suspecian. In exams, when I am asked to prove some thing, used to try disproving it, as I suspect there may have been a printing mistake. I get more interested in some thing not yielding so much. In exams, after attempting enough marks for passing the exam, I used to concentrate on problems that looked defficult leaving out easier one (even after seeing them and knowing they are easy). This nature always gave me bad results in terms of marks in exams. Lagna is a movable sign. Lack of focus. Owned by Venus. So, imaginative. Lagna lord also owns eith house. This may be showing why suspects things and question. Fift is owned by Saturn. Self concerned. Ninth and 12th are owned by Mercury. So, generous enough but Saturn keeps me self concern despite of Mercurian force driving me towards selflessness and moksha. 3. Traits to be corrected Keep critisiging things and getting angry over things not going in order. After anger goes off, understand the in-ability on the other party (system representatives). Do not know why. I remember bad events for quite long. I shall learn to forgive and forget more quickly. Reason: 3rd lord is also 6th lord. 4. Professions The 10th is Cancer. Keep in mind that both Antar and PratyAntar Dasa's must be reckoned from their opposite signs, hence 9th and 10th houses were activated in the Antar and PratyAntar dasa's respectfully. Ta-Sc*-Sc* Heres the list. Interviewed on Dec: 19 1995 Signed my papers on: Dec 28 1995 Joined and was asked to undergo health checkup: Jan 2 1996 The 9th house containing, Upapada, Darapada and Rahu in Taurus-9th, clearly shows the; interview(9th), signing agreements(UL), joining department and colleagues(A7). Not sure what to make of Rahu here. Ta-Sc*-Sg* Was assigned to project: Jan 8 1996 The stars indicate that the dasa must be reckoned from the opposite sign, due to strength calculations. We can see that Sarajit may have some truth to his theory. Do you have a problem with women at your work? Venus in Marana Karaka Sthana from Both lagna and the lord of Lagnapada, indicates this. The woman may be the cleaning lady or one who takes care of service-like activities, as Venus is in a saturnian sign. My Father was working in the Merchant Navy as Marine Radio/Satellite Officer. He was away on ships 9 months in a year. His job/contract entailed him to go to foriegn countries. In his chart I would see such a connection. In my case, I went abroad for education, during D24 Narayana Dasa of Sc which is the 4H in my chart. Its Lord Ma is 7L in D4 and afflicts the 4H with Saturn. Similarly the 10L in my D10 is Me who is also the 9 & 12Lords in D4 and posited in 7H with Ke!!!! In my D10 Ta being the 9H of fortune, I was really fortunate to get well paid jobs. As Rahu afflicts the D4 Ascendant, this dasa has also caused lot of travels inside US. If Mars is also associated with 5th or 9 th houses, it is faith healing, If Mars is associated with 3rd house, it is Reiki. I think, Mars in the 6th house and AK in Scorpio (3rd house- signifying hands)vouch for Jesus's healing powers...which can be Reiki, as already indicated by one of the list members.
