Guest guest Posted April 24, 2005 Report Share Posted April 24, 2005 Hello Everyone With Hanuman Jayanti observed today and tomorrow, depending on which part of the world you are, I was just curious as to the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa. All around South Africa, the 108 Recital of Hanuman Chalisa is being held in the Major cities, where Lord Rama is glorified by honouring his perfect Devotee, Sri Hanuman. I believe this is the right context. Most devotees chant the chalisa on a Saturday - supposedly to honour Sani. Frankly, I have asked many why they chant and many are ignorant as to why they are doing it are just doing it according to tradition. I would just like some learnered members on the list to clarify under what specific circumstances, is the Hanuman chalisa recommended as a remedy. Saturn (Yogi) who limped could not make it to save Sita (the feminine aspect of Sun/Rama). In the trinal scheme, The 5th from Tuesday is Saturday. In Vimsottari scheme, the 5th or the 7th of any dasa, is the death indicator. Mars is 7th from Saturn. Hope the gist is there.
