Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Sarbani, I’ve found it, Chapter 25.4a J!! ओं à¤à¥‚रà¥à¤¨à¤®à¥‹ à¤à¤—वते वराहाय oá¹ bhÅ«rnamo bhagavate varÄhÄya But the ones given below are especially when one needs to perform a yagna, yes? Narada Purana also gives other mantras for Varahi, but since I’ve only read references to Vastu and Varahi as one of the protectors in one of the Vastu “quartersâ€, I did not include it in here. Now, which day would you suggest that this particular dvadasakshari mantra be chanted? Thanks so much for your help. Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Hari, Namaste and soon found myself thinking / discussing about residence-related matters!!! So now what to do? Yours truly in Guru sannidhana Hari That is so funny JJJJJ!! Worship of the sandhyas on dvadashi during Vishakha – the dvaadashaakshara of Vishnu: In Sri Varaha Purana Chapter 120, He said the following: Take water in both hands and facing the East say: Om namo naaraayaNaaya To the west, Om namo bhagavate vaasudevaaya Turning to the North, om namo naaraayaaNaaya And to the South, om namaH purushottamaaya The worship is actually to Lord Narayana in the Varaha Purana. Stotra: In Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 5 Chapter 18 pg212 Sri Varaha who resides in Jambudvipa accepts all sacrificial offerings. In the tract of land known as Uttarakuru-varsha, mother earth and all other inhabitants worship Him with unfailing devotional service by repeated chanting the Upanishat mantra. om namo bhagavate mantratattvaliNgAya yaj~nakratave mahAdhvarAvayavAya mahApruruShAya namaH karmashuklAya triyugAya namas te O Lord, unto you as the gigantic person, we offer our obeisances simply by chanting mantras, we will be able to understand you fully. You are yagna (sacrifice) and You are Kratu (ritual). Therefore, all ritualistic ceremonies of sacrifices are part of Your transcendental body. You are the only enjoyer of all sacrifices. Your form is composed of transcendental goodness. You are known as tri-yuga because in Kaliyuga you appeared as a concealed incarnation and because You always fully possess the three pairs of opulences. Infact i remember Sanjayji saying that often the name: Mahapurusha is associated with Rama, but is actually for Shiva, as he is the embodiment of all the mahapurusha yogas, as all the five tattvas are perfect in him. This is naturally manifested in the form of his five heads – but that part we know already. Guest guest
Namaskaar Sri SarbaniNow I am totally lost as I was only referring to Sri Visti's email regarding the Mahakaal Mantra:om namah shivaaya namah mahakaaleswaraaya||I distinctly remember Sri Sanjay Rath stating that it is only " Kaleshwaraaya " and not " mahakaleshwaraaya " in the above mantra. My post was only pointing in that direction. vedAhametam puruSHam mahAntam | AdityavarNam tamasas pArastAt |tamevam vidhvAnamrta iha bhavati | nAnya: panthA vidhyate ayanAya || 2 ||(etam) That (mahAntam) glorious (AdityavarNam) sun-brilliant (puruSHam) puruSHa, (astu) who transcends (pArastAt) all (tamas) darkness, (aham) I (veda:) know him.(vidvAn) Who knows (tam) Him (evam) in this manner (bhavati) becomes (amrta:) immortal (iha) in this very birth. (ayaNaya) To moksha, liberation (na vidhyate) I know not of (anya:) other (panthA:) paths. Is this from the Upanishad? Can you provide the reference? It is part of Purusha Suktam as per my understanding. Thanks and Regards BharatOn 2/20/06, Sarbani Sarkar <sarbani wrote: Shri Brahmadaru Smarami Dear Visti and Anuj (Bharat), If I am not mistaken the mantra is for both Rama and Shiva. I think Sanjayji mentioned that it was sourced from the Bhagavat and refers to Rama as the King (Sun in 10th house). Rishi Vishvamitra also gives the mantra Om Namo Bhagavate Ramaya Mahapurushaya Namah. Mahapurush Yogas cannot fructify if the Sun is weak and hence this mantra is specifically suited for activating Mahapurush and Raja Yogas. The Maha Purusha thus can be signified by both Shiva and Vishnu forms. Remember the famous shloka from the Upanishads: Vedahametam purusham mahantam Adityavarnam tamasah parastat Tvameva viditva atimrtyumeti Nanhya pantha vidyate ayanaya I see that Mahan Purusha, who is the colour of the Aditya; knowing whom only can I cross death; there is no other path than that (that is to know/realize him). This Mahan Purusha can be worshipped either as Shiva or Vishnu. The Varaha Mantra that I read in Robert-ji's book is Om Namo Bhagavate Mahaapurushaaya. Akupaaraya is the Kurma Avatara Mantra (Shani) as Sarbani-ji rightly pointed.
