Dear Narasimha,

Dr. B.V. Raman in his book varshaphal has mentioned that the stongest planet

qualifying for Muntha can be found using panchavargeeya bala..

Any comments..

Sarajit

Yes. The same criteria may be used in finding the stronger of lagna, Moon and

Sun for Moola dasa.

The specific D-chart.

Both!

Just like in the natal chart, Narayana dasa can be found for rasi chart as

well

as divisional charts in Tajaka annual/monthly solar return charts.

* * *

I will give an example.

Birthdata: 4th April 1970, 5:50 pm (IST, 5:30E), 81e12, 16n15 (myself)

Natal Sun is at 20Pi53. Let us cast the monthly solar return chart for Dec

1999-Jan 2000 when Sun entered 20Sc53 on Dec 7, 1999.

New month data: 7th December 1999, 12:45:33 pm (IST), 81e12, 16n15

Let us find D-24 Narayana dasa. In rasi chart, lagna is Pisces. Saturn is

12th

lord (D-24 means 24 and 24 modulo 12 is 12. So take 12th lord in rasi chart).

He

is in Libra in D-24 and Li is stronger than Ar. So start from Li and go as

Li,

Sc, Sg, Cp etc. Compress D-24 Narayana dasa to fit the first 120 years to 1

month (which is the duration of this monthly chart).

I am giving the D-24 chart and " D-24 Narayana dasa " compressed to one month.

INTERPRETATION:

Because this is D-24, matters relating to knowledge and learning can be seen.

Take Li dasa. It has exalted Saturn, who is the 8th lord from lagna. Saturn

signifies hard work. On Dec 23, I took vacation from office and finished

" Jagannatha Hora Lite " software, as I wanted to release it on that Thursday.

I

worked hard the whole day to finish off the project.

From Li, 10th has Mercury. In D-24, 10th shows activities related to

knowledge

in society. Mercury in 10th may have made me release the software in Li dasa.

The 12th house shows giving things away and Jupiter in 12th from Libra in a

Mercurian sign can explain giving away some software (Mercury) related to

astrology (Jupiter).

Sc has Sun in it. Sun's dasa usually brings recognition and fame. Here

compliments from several people for JHLite started in Sc dasa. This dasa made

me

feel good (Sun), after a lot of hard work in Li dasa (Saturn).

Now let us take the unpleasant events of the last weekend. During Dec 31-Jan

2,

a gentleman made a lot of wild accusations in public about a virus in my free

program and talked about " polluted " files in his PC. With his ignorant and

yet

adament attitude, he managed to scare some people and gave me a big headache.

All this happened during Ar dasa (Dec 31-Jan 3).

Taking Ar as lagna, AL is in Leo and I behaved in an authoritative way (Leo!)

in

that dasa. Exalted Saturn in the 3rd from AL (Leo) makes it difficult to give

up

like a sadhu (soft-natured person). Malefics in the 3rd and 6th from the

arudha

of dasa rasi make one fight and win. Benefics in the 3rd and 6th from the

arudha

of dasa rasi make one give up like a saint. (These principles work in natal

charts also. Take lagna instead of dasa rasi and get a general reading for

the

whole life.) So I tried in vain to educate the accusing gentleman and gave up

very late.

What about the other person (gentleman with virus allegations)? His actions

are

seen from A6 (satru pada - arudha pada of 6th) from dasa rasi. Afflictions on

A6

can show troubles from others in a dasa.

Taking Aries (dasa rasi) as lagna, 6th is Vi and lord Mercury is in Cn (11th

from Vi). So A6 is in the 11th from Cn, i.e. Ta. Note that Taurus is

afflicted

by Rahu & Ketu!!! This can certainly show adament and weird behavior from

enemies! Of course, A6 in Ta with Rahu & Ketu can also show trouble from a

person of Venusian lagna or a person with Rahu or Ketu in lagna or a person

with

a predominant Rahu or Ketu in chart.

What about my Guru's behaviour here? From Ar, 9th is Sg and lord Jupiter

represents my Guru. With Jupiter in the tamasik sign Virgo, some disturbance

in

my guru's saattwik behavior is possible. But Jupiter is a very saattwik

planet.

So my Guru gave a saattwik reply, as he was pulled into controvery when the

gentleman with virus allegations told me to " give a good kick ass to these

gurus " and later questioned my Guru's " enlightenment " .

Jupiter and Sun have a graha drishti (normal aspect) on nodes in Taurus (i.e.

on

A6). This can suggest that an elderly/knowledgable person (Jupiter) or an

administrator (Sun) restrained the other person who was going berserk (Rahu &

Ketu). Of course, I don't know if this is true.

Hope that gives an idea of how to compute and judge Narayana dasa of Tajaka

charts.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha
