The LMT equivalent for 6 AM is the only definition that >shall work everywhere. Namaste Sanjay, If I understood you correctly, the Hora schedule, which functions within a 24 hour period, reflects a linear time notion. The Rasi chart, on the other hand, is based on a non-linear time notion. It seems as if the Hora schedule was a rather abstract system for most of the world. The 24 hour period is considered to be equal to a day (day + night). Perhaps the 24 hour period = 1 day (d + n) is natural, i.e. an astronomical observation, only in the equator during equinox. Questions: [1] Why would the graha-devas work with a calendar that is not natural, astronomical, deva-made but rather artificial, conventional, man-made? [2] Has anyone spoken of something like multiplying the 12 noon in LMT by a mathematical value that reflects the position of the place in question (its latitude & longitude)? [3] How are the weeks, solar months, solar years determined for jyotisa practitioners in your tradition? [4] Would the Hora schedule have been originally based on some special location such as Manu's Aryavarta, the Rg Vedic Panjab, the Meru in the Bhagavata Purana? Jaya Jagannatha!
