Dear Vistiji,

My deepest thanks to you for your extraordinary contributions to Vedic

Astrology via the teachings of your guru Sanjay Rath. It would not be

an unrealistic comparison if I stated that you are to Pandit Rath what

Battotpala was to Varahmihira. I have gained so much from your writings

and your lectures. My heartfelt gratitude.

Visti: Thank you.

I have two simple questions.

1) Who lords Aquarius for this chart. JHora picks Rahu but I think

applying the Narayana Dasa Rules for dual lordship expounded by Pandit

Rath and you, it should be Saturn.

DOB: 10-10-1961

TOB: 1:26:12 AM

POB: Tiruchchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, India

Visti: The purpose for which we are choosing the stronger is also

important as this will also tell which rules we should use for

strength. More below.

Reasoning is as follows:

Applying Rule 1: Saturn is with Jupiter and Rahu is with Venus. Hence

equal strength

Visit: Correct.

Applying Rule 2: Saturn is conjoined Jupiter and aspected by his

dispositor. Rahu is aspected by Mercury and Jupiter. So equal strength

Visti: Correct.

Applying Rule 3: Saturn is swakshetra in Capricorn. Rahu is in Leo. So

Saturn wins.

Visti: Correct.

If Saturn indeed lords Aquarius, then Virgo Narayana dasa starts in

October this year which will be a significant change in the life of the

native. Else Leo Narayana Dasa will continue through 2014.

2) It is said the planet occupying the 6th from Amatyakaraka in the

Navamsam is Palana Devata. In the preceding chart, the planet in the

6th from Amatyakaraka (Venus) is the Atmakaraka (Rahu) himself.

What does it mean when the Palana Devata is the Atmakaraka himself?

Visti: It means that to reach the Palana Devata one should go to either

the Ishta Devata, or the Atmalinga of the Atmakaraka... Shiva.

Thanks so much, again.

Best regards,

Somnath

Dear Gurudev Vistiji -

Namaskar. Somnath and myself had couple of email exchanges on this.

Please see this rule as it applies in this chart :

Applying Rule 2: Saturn is conjoined Jupiter and aspected by his

dispositor.

Subbu: Correct

Rahu is aspected by Mercury and Jupiter. So equal strength

Subbu : Here Rahu in leo is aspected by Jup, Sat(other lord of Aq) and Merc. Can

we count Sat aspect or not ?

Please help me understand if thats not the way this should be looked.

Regards,

Subbu
