Om Datta Guru

Dear Steve,

You are correct. That is a typo in there and it should read " Seven "

instead of " Six " . Initially, do not count the Moon as we must be fair with

the Lagna. If they turn out to be equal, then count the Moon. Here we use

the " Veto "

power of the Moon (like a chairman in a boardroom) to determine the Dasa.

Thank you for your keen observation. Venus should be in trines to your

Navamsa Lagna or Amsa Lagna in Venus house. Do confirm. Your sincerity will

pay rich dividends.

With Best Wishes,

Sanjay Rath

[sri Guru] Question on Lesson 8

Jaya Jagannath!

Dear Gurudeva Sanjay and Jyotish Gurus

I have a question relating to Lesson 8. The first rule for determining the

relative strength of a constellation states: (i) Determine the number of

planets in Kendra to the signs occupied by the constellation. Larger number

of planets in quadrant shall determine the stronger.

I assume that we include Rahu and Ketu here (i.e. together as two planets in

kendra)?

If this is correct, I do not understand how you arrive at " Six planets

placed in quadrant to the Moon sign " in Illustration Example 1. Should this

be 8, including the Moon itself, or do we exclude the Moon when counting

from the Moon sign?

Please forgive me if I am overlooking some simple point here.

Unfortunately, I will be away tomorrow until Saturday, so I will not be able

to complete this assignment until next week.

Your Sisya

Steve

Dear Gurudeva Sanjay

Thank you for your reply. You are absolutely correct, my Navamsa Lagna is

Aries with Venus in Leo in the 5th house, in trine to the lagna. Could you

please enlighten me on the significance of this yoga?

Your Sisya

Steve

Om Datta Guru

Dear Steve and all Jyotisha,

That is the way the traditional Jyotisha look. They look at the person

first. The observations should be accurate. The fact that Steve was able to

catch such a typo which most others would have overlooked shows his keen

observation and indepth reading. Such a tapas bala or strength to

concentrate is given only by Sukracharya the great Tapaswi. This can happen

if the Navamsa Lagna (representing our inner abilities as obtained from many

births) has a strong influence of venus in trines.

Thus, in this way you can also correct charts. Observation is very

important. Dronacharya commended Arjuna for focusing in the eye of the Bird

when they were learning archery. JAYA YOGA is caused by Jupiter

(Dhi-intellect) and Venus (Tapa-bala: strength of penance). Later on Yoga's.

With Best Wishes,
