Let the system remains as it is. Let us identify where the reformation is necessary.Let us mend only there. While repairing a house we do not have to pull down the whole house. If the rashis are prevailing in our present system, and we can do calendar reform without getting rid of it then why not do it that way only. Thus in my view, keeping the rashis or gettig rid of it is a redundant discussion, not pertaining to the subject matter. The rashis are just a mechanism for our solar sankrantis. They control our adhikmas. They have not failed in this purpose. It is the excessive ayanamsa that has obstructed them to fulfill this purpose. If we limit ayanamsa within 15 degrees, then they will be as effective as they have been in the centuries gone by.So my request let us analyse the problem properly. If there is a sore on the leg,let us not rush to cut the leg off.Let us cure that sore.If the problem is ayanamsa, let us control it and not think of getting rid of the rashis. History has shown that with or without the rashis the predictive gimmicks wre there. So the whole discussion is futile. If the rashis are sayan also prediction continues,if the rashis are thrown away also prediction continues, then why waste our time, solving the problem where it is not? May be we will be able to arrive at some concensus regarding the framework of Hindu calendar, after geting all the views. The more conficting they are, the better for a real brain-storming exercies. > With regards, > A K Kaul > HinduCalendar , " jyotirved " <jyotirved@> wrote: > > > > > > > > > > > > jyotirved [jyotirved@] > > Monday, June 29, 2009 6:50 PM > > 'abhinavagupta ' > > Reference of Rashis in the Vedas and the Vedanga Jyotisha! > > > > > > > > Shri Shivraj Khokraji, > > > > Namaskar! > > > > Many thanks for your response. > > > > You have said > > > > ... > --- End forwarded message ---
