The following verse states that there were 13 wives... Ch 66 of Sambhava parva in the Adi parva of the Mahabhaarata dadau sa dasa dharmaaya sapraviMShatimindrave| divyena vidhinaa raajankashyapaaya trapodasaa||66.13|| Meaning: (He) daksa bestowed 10 daughters on Dharma, 27 to Chandra and 13 to Kashyapa (total 50 daughters/putrikas of daksa) The daughters bestowed on Kashyapa are: Mahabharata Sanjay Rath 1. Aditi Aditi 2. Diti Diti 3. Danu Danu 4. Kala Kala 5. Danayu Anayu 6. Sinhika Sinhika 7. Krodha Krodha 8. Pradha (Sadhya)? 9. Vishva (Ira)? 10.Vinata Vinata 11.Kapila (Khaga)? 12.Muni Muni 13.Kadru Kadru + (#14) Surabhi I have found the genealogy of Bala asura and would prefer to use your list of names. Q. Can you please indicate where I can get the same information you have. A revisit on the article wrt Muhurta on the 14 wives of Kashyapa: Q: Can I have the wives in sequence as I feel these are inricately linked to the tithis and their energies. You've also taught about tithis, varas etc., and I miserably admit its gone over my head. Vara is for health? and Tithi? Anyones? The wives of Kashyapa are responsible for the genesis of various tribes in India- devas from ADiti, Asuras from Diti,Kecaras (lit. birds)from Vinita and Nagas(lit.Reptiles) from Kadru etc. That Daksha has bestowed his many daughters is given to Kashyapa and others is mentioned in Puranas also. I will try to post more on the Kashyapa's wives soon.
