Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Jyotisha, Namaste Im posting this question under a separate thread as it warrants further discussion. Are there any guidelines in the various texts about the application of Vastu in the Southern Hemisphere. Swee in a previous thread pointed out that the magnetic flow of the Earth reverses in the Southern Hemisphere. Based on this theory, there are some commentators on Vastu who say that as a result of this, room locations and entry locations are a mirror image of the Northern Hemisphere. So this would mean that the Pooja Room should be in the SE, Master Bedroom in the NW and Kitchen in the SE Is there any merit to this thinking and does anyone know of any sacred texts that substantiate or refute this theory. How do we reconcile the understanding of Vastu with Prana flowing in a particular direction, but magnetic flow different in both hemispheres. The only other conclusion one can make is that the flow of Prana and Vastu, works on a different paradigm, as opposed to the Earth’s magnetic flow being considered Material energy. Could anyone please shed some light on this so that we can consolidate our learning. Best Wishes Bipin
Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Bipin, Hare Krishna The magnetic flow of the earth flows from South to North and not the other way around as stated in many books. In time, with the precession, the South becomes the North and likewise, the North becomes the South. As we are still in the age – 5,000 years out of 28,000, we know that the North is still the North Take the example of the cross section of the sankha The North and the South flow of the inner pattern of the whorls and these two seemingly different patterns are a part of a whole and is how water flows in these two hemispheres ACW and CW. You must mean the opposite of NE is SW (Puja room) and the opposite of SE is NW (Kitchen). I have noted that the suggestions in the various directions should remain the same. According to Vastu, the West should be higher than the East. According to Feng Shui and according to the breadwinner of the house, the West should be lower than the East. 10 years ago, an expensive experiment was done – all the 40 year old gum trees were chopped down and the result was disastrous for the owner of the house. All trees along that wall were replanted some years back, and despite the fact that the person is going through a bad dasa, his material life is piecing back.
