Dear Swee-ji,

namaskar. The first mantram is 5-lettered and not 6-lettered. From the 3rd house (3 words) if you count 5, you will reach 7th house. The second mantram is 5-words 10-lettered hence from 5th house, if you count 10 you will reach 2nd house. I think this is written in VRA. I would be grateful if I am educated about the usage part.

Best wishes,

Sourav

Sri Ramakrishna Smaranam

My dear Swee,

1. Klim Krishnaya Namah is the basic mantra for Krishna. The variations are many:

1. Klim Krishnaya Namah

2. Klim Krishnaya Svaha (Govinda Sadakshara Mantra)

3. Om Klim Krishnaya Namah

4. Om Klim Krishnaya Svaha

5. Om Srikrishnaya Namah

6. Klim Krishna Klim

As you see that with the slight changes, the Mantra Devata calculations will change and the impact of the mantra will vary subtly in the different facets of your life. The basic mantra Klim Krishnaya Namah will primary cleanse the sadripus and will help you to zero in on dharma. The mantra devata sits in the 9th house and not in the 7th. Its 3-6-9.

I have not heard the second mantra you have given which is a 5-10-3, but it is commonly held that Krishna is the greatest rakshak or protector of all. Remember the story of Draupadi and how she was being disrobed and shamed in a public court by her husbands errant cousins? At that time all she did was shut her eyes and take resort in Krishna and asked Him to protect her with the mantra Sri Krishna Sharanam Mama. The mantra you mention have the same kind of connotation; Krishna as the ultimate Saviour and Protector who protects all. All you need to do is reach out to him.

2. Gopijanavallabhaya Svaha is another very basic root mantra. This ia known as the Gopala mantra and has multiple variations:

1. Gopijanavallabhaya Svaha

2. Klim Gopijanavallabhaya Svaha

3. Klim Krishnaya Govindaya Gopijanavallabhaya Svaha (famous ashtadashakshari mantra)

4. Om Klim Krishnaya Govindaya Gopijanavallabhaya Svaha

5. Glaum Klim Namo Bhagavate Nandaputraya Bala-vapushe Shyamalaya Gopijanavallabhaya Svaha

6. Klim Krishnaya GovindayaThe 18 akshara mantra highlighted above is the well known Gopala mantra. Here he is worshipped as the conqueror of the hearts of the gopis. This is very good for marriage problems and for cleansing the 7th house. In fact if you use the 19 akshara mantra then we source it at the 7th house.

3. Om Namah Krishnaya Devakiputraya Hum Phat Svaha

Dear Swee-ji,

namaskar. Yes, kindly educate further on the nyaasa. My thought is: why do we need the mantra-devata to sit in the third house ? 3rd house is house of desire and aggression (due to excess or misdirected desire) and the devata controls the desire and directs it in the proper channels. The only proper desire is to be in equilibrium with the rest of the universe, by exercising the thought that Lord is in everything. In the 5th, the devata controls the intelligence and sees that it is directed properly- hence removing doshas like epilepsy etc. Please educate.

Best wishes,

Sourav

Dear Sourav,

Namaste

Thank you for the corrections.

Kamabija is klIm, said to remove curses

The maha mantra is:

gopIjsnsbsllsbhAya swAHA

– 2 words- 10 lettered goes to the 12th house. Said to remove planetary effects, safety from deluge (Moon in marana), gives strength, heroic valour, the eight psychic powers.

Chhanda – Viraat

Devata – Shri Krishna

Will give the panchanga nyasa if you’re interested

Om Namo Vasudevaya

Dear Sourav,

Namaste

As far as I know, the 3rd house is house of Guru upadesa. A hoseholder offers sthiti nyasa

Prithvi, Jala, Agni, Vayu and Akash are the 5 tattvas and the other 5 are, Ahamkara, Mahat, Prakriti, Purusa and Paramatma

Nyasa of the 5 tattvas are to be made on both feet, Hridaya (heart) on the mouth and head. Perform nyasa twice on the heart (hridaya). Vyapaka three times all over the body from head to foot and then do this from the feet to the head.

This bestows all siddhis as the body becomes purified by all 10 tattvas.

Depending on which rishi has made up that mantra, follow his rules in the performance. For Narada rishi, the nyasa for the ashtadashakshari mantra is to be performed on the 10 shakhas – arm, fingers up to the thumb of the right hand with the addition of Om in the beginning and “swaha” to close the mantra.

Thus:

Om Klim Krishnaya Govindaya Gopijanavallabhaya Svaha

The 5 parts (panchanga nyasa) are:

Klim

Krishnaya

Govindaya

Gopijana vallabhaya

swaha

Love,

Swee

ll HARE RAM ll Dear friends, There is another Mantra of Lord Krishna that is called Maha Mantra Chintamani and it is very much sure & have in my personal experience that it can remove all the obstacles of life.It is written in Padama Purana and Narad Purana both. "GOPIJANVALLABHCHARNAN SHARNAM PRAPADYE" It is just like sanjivani vidya. It first will pure the heart and mind and it is able to give DHARMA, ARTHA, KAMA AND MOKSHA surely, only complete devotion and dedication is needed. The basic mantra Klim Krishnaya Namah will primary cleanse the sadripus and will help you to zero in on dharma. The mantra devata sits in the 9th house and not in the 7th. Its 3-6-9.I have not heard the second mantra you have given which is a 5-10-3, but it is commonly held that Krishna is the greatest rakshak or protector of all. All you need to do is reach out to him.2. Om Bhagavate Vasudevaya

Dear Sashi,

Namaste

As far as I know, the Cintamani mantra is the Astadashakshari mantra as given earlier by Sarbani. The sanjivani mantra is the Krishna mantra, there is no other like it.

For the mantra you’ve given (I think there is a mistake there) can you please give me the exact references from both the Puranas which I have in my possession. I would be very grateful for that.

Love,

6. Klim Krishnaya Govindaya

The 18 akshara mantra highlighted above is the well known Gopala mantra.

How! are these mantras to be used? - Sarbani/Sanjay ji

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya

Dear Sarbani/Sanjay ji,

Namaste

The lessons on mantras have always gone over my head. Can you help me again? I need to ask when these two mantras are used?

klIm krishnAya namaH – 3 words, 6 lettered mantra and transforms to the 7th house???

hrIM shrIM rakShaNa krishnAya namah – 5 words, 10 lettered mantra transforms to 3rd house??

Said to have potencies to protect one from insanity due to ghosts etc., amnesia, epilepsy, poisoning, fainting spells, fever, vagrant mind wanderings;

Said to bring fame, name, sons, lands, wealth, lustre, fortune and vigour.

Please suggest how these mantras should be used according to one’s kundli. The second mantra should be good for Guru in marana?

Love,

Swee

!Om Gurveh Namah!

Dear Friends and Gurujans, Namaskar!

This a very enlightened discussion about mantras.

Can someone point me to references/materials for mantra(s)

application in Jyotish? I am particularly interested in how the

number of letters in a mantra relate to houses and how the choice of

mantra is made.

Any help or pointers are appreciated.

Warm regards,

Pranav
