My take on A*C*T is that it is location specific and not zodiac

specific. Its like a world map showing the path of the planets only

in reference to planets rising and falling on the four angles at a

given locality. Further, my understanding is that when plotting the

path of the planets to create the map, all that changes in the two

charts, is the place co-ordinates, but the birth time and date remains

the same.

 

I dont think there are any Jyotish texts references for A*C*T, but the

theory must still be tested. Jim Lewis, incidentally founded this

theory in the 1800's but its use has been made popular again only very

recently. Apparently, some bright spark went and registered a

trademark to " Astro*Carto*Graphy " and since then nobody is allowed to

use it and of course the American attorneys have indicectly added to

its popularity, by suing people for using the copyright - now I ask

what next.....

 

There is an East meets West Vedic Astrologer who has developed a

Jyotish application for this by the name of Dennis Flaherty, who has

coined the term Astro*Locality for Jyotish application. I know an

astro friend from India who was researching this and tried numerous

times to get in touch with him, but without any success. According to

the local Western astrology community, Solar Maps (the developers of

Solar Fire) is the most popular software used for this application.

 

Anyway, as a consolation, there are no planetary lines going through

Cape Town, so does this mean im better off else where - well this is

what the A*C*T astrologers will tell you if you want to relocate.

There is not enough research to prove whether this type of thing has

worked or not. I know of someone who followed all his 'carreer " lines

from Delhi to Cape Town to Durban now back to Mumbai and still

business prospects havent improved. If there is any merit in A*C*T,

then I think its only in conjuction with dashas as to when its the

right time to experience the right event in the right place ?? sounds

logical but not convincing.

 

Incidentally, the only reason why ive dabbled with A*C*T is that my

curiosity got the better of me when looking at the map I found that my

Mercury line goes slap bang through the centre of Mumbai. So will I

do trade with someone in Mumbai or study or lecture there - only time

will tell what this means.
