Guest guest
Dear Abhishek, The japa is done by pandit(s) when: - the yajamana does not have the adhikara for the mantra as per shashtra - the yajamana cannot learn the mantras due to sheer volume (eg. udaka-shanti) - the yajamana does not know the procedure accompanying the mantras (eg. homa) - the yajamana cannot finish the japa by himself in the time allotted (i.e. several ritwiks are invited) - the yajamana cannot perform the japa due to illness etc. However, even in these cases, for best results, the yajamana should do as many of the following as possible: - be present for the sankalpa - be present for the entire japa / karma - be present for the ashirvada - receive and partake in the prasada When it is a matter of relatively low repetition (1 mala / day etc) of a mantra that the yajamana knows, he will always derive the best benefit by doing the japa himself. However, for mantras taken from the vedas, a percentage of the japa is also offered as homa, tarpana & brahmana-bhojana for full results….and so, the pandit is still invited for these portions. Also note that when it comes to real spiritual progress, the person has to perform the japa. There is no delegation. ajit sohamsa [sohamsa ] On Behalf Of abhishek_ioc Wednesday, March 08, 2006 9:29 PM sohamsa recitation of mantra If a person gives sankalp to a learned pandit to recite the mantras for him does the effect of recitation is same ? Guest guest
Shri Brahmadaru Smarami Dear Ajit, I am so glad you wrote this. In Delhi its a fashion to hire a pundit who would chant x lakhs of mantras for you. Also, we have a lot of foreign clients and students who keep on asking whether they can have pujas done long distance. Our priests had refused saying that you have to be at least sitting in on the puja. Guest guest
Dear Ajit while performing remedy for curses in kundali the number of japa is 1 lakh and this is why i thought it to clarify my doubts in this forum . The suitability of Mantra as per Shri Sanjay Rath JI should be tested from rashi name first letter and not from the name of person. But sometimes it is suggested otherwise. When should one go for the name of person.
