Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Sanjay, Namaste I came across your Tripod Rule which is supported by Parashara. So, with the discussion around Jupiter I would like establish if there is any merit in reckoning effects from Jupiter - are there any scriptures or texts that refer to this. Now according to the scriptures(will have to find the relevant verses), we understand that we have a physical body and a non-physical body. The non-physical body is made up of the soul and the subtle energies encompassing the Mind, Intelligence and False Ego. When dilineating a chart then we comonly look at the effects of the planets as reckoned from Lagna (Body), Sun (soul), Moon (Mind), AL (False Ego). Intelligence is represented by Jupiter. One of the purposes of Jyotish is to understand our purpose in Life and we know that when one leaves one's body, the soul together with the subtle energies imbedded in it, tranmigrates to the new being. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong. Having said this, is there any merit in reckoning the effects of planets from Jupiter representing intelligence to fully understand one's soul's purpose. Any chance of having a 'Quad" rule I have read in the forum somewhere that Ju 5th from Mo is very benefic. Would Mo being 9th from Jup not be a better explanation from this. The non-physical body is made up of the soul and the subtle energies encompassing the Mind, Intelligence and False Ego. Sanjay P: Actually the body is divided into 5 Layers, Called Pancha Kosha (Kosha=Containers). Do a small search in the web and you can get the list of all the Pancha Kosha. Sanskrit Translation Anna-maya Kosha Food-full Gross Physical Body Prana-maya Kosha Energy-full Subtle Body Mana-maya Kosha Instinctive-mind-full Perceptual Body Vigyana-maya Kosha Understanding-full Consciousness Body Ananda-maya Kosha Bliss-full Transcendental Body This is further simplified into 3 Koshas. I think for Exact understanding we should use 5 References in Chart. Which will give Direct Correlation to Panchanga, And show how Time(Kaala) really acts on individuals. Each Kosha acts on different Time levels(Zones or Time Compression). Soul takes longest time (when seen from material world) and Physical Body made of food (Anna Maaya) takes the shortest time for changes. This is represented in 3 speed motions, Sun (1Yr/cyc), Moon(27.3d/cyc) and Lagna(24Hr/Cyc). Actually We should be looking for 5 References, I hope Guru Sanjayji will some more clues. To Understand further the Speed, Division of space is done and we do have 5 Levels of Divisionals. D1 to D12 AnnaMaaya D12 to D24 PraanaMaaya D24 to D36 ManoMaaya D36 to D48 VignyaanaMaaya D48 to D60 AnandaMaaya Warm Regards Sanjay P > When dilineating a chart then we comonly look at the effects of the planets as reckoned from Lagna (Body), Sun (soul), Moon (Mind), AL (False Ego). Guest guest
... hamsasso.aham .. I hope you don’t mind a small vedantic digression. Most translations of the koshas give us the mental picture of a set of layered physical sheaths which are ‘full of’ xyz. However, as I have been taught, ‘maya’ is not being interpreted correctly. Too much emphasis is being given to ‘kosha’ and not enough to ‘maya’. annamaya-kosha does not mean a ‘container which is full of food’. It means ‘of the very nature (essence) of food, a sheath’. Generally, we are told that the sheaths envelop one another. i.e. the anandamaya-kosha is “inside” the vigyanamaya-kosha and so on. Every work tells us that ‘the subtle body consists of the pranamaya, manomaya and vijyanamaya kosha’. However, if each kosha were truly contained in another, the standard works would simply say that ‘the subtle body consists of the pranamaya kosha’ and the rest would be obvious. But, I have not come across this statement. IMO, the concept of layered containers is easy for beginners, but, ultimately incorrect. Guru (akasha) is not contained by Saturn (vayu)…..in fact, as akasha is all enveloping, in a sense it is the opposite. So also, a ‘subtle kosha’ is not contained by a ‘gross one’….in a sense, it is actually the opposite. ajit sohamsa [sohamsa ] On Behalf Of sanjayprabhakaran Monday, August 22, 2005 8:01 AM sohamsa Re: Rath's Tripod Rule || Jaya Jagannatha || Dear Bipin, > Now according to the scriptures(will have to find the relevant verses), we understand that we have a physical body and a non-physical body. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Respected friends, I thought of sharing what i have learnt on the same subject from my guru. There are five KOSAS - sheaths i.e.levels of function for the mind according to the domain of its activities. 1)Annamaya kosha - when the mind is engaged in the feeling and fulfilment of bodily needs including food etc 2)Manomaya kosha - when the mind is engaged in reflecting its habits/emotions 3)Pranamaya kosha -when the mind realises its base (origin), its existence, its function etc. 4)Vigyana maya kosha - when the mind realises the laws of nature including universal secrets 5)Anandamaya kosha - when the mind realises the truth (self realised state) & merges with it. Above are the levels of consciousess and if our knowledge is operating in the first two levels i.e. Annamaya and manomaya kosha, it is said that soul is in "forgetfull state" or self-forgotton state (fully engaged in sensual pleasures i guess). By practice of Yoga, one can progress from the lower levels to attain perfection/self-realisation which is the ultimate stage of ecstasy. Apologise if the above is of irrelevent to the topic of interest. thanks and regards Muthu Ajit Krishnan <ajit.krishnan wrote: ... hamsasso.aham .. I hope you don’t mind a small vedantic digression.
