Dear Sanjay,

What is the karaka for bee and wasp? At my residence there is a beehive outside the living room window while a wasp keeps coming into the bathroom making it inconvenient at times...oddly enough a wasp also keeps coming inside the workplace which is about 500 m from the residence. So far no problems as I follow mother Nature in these aspects; let her decide what is best for everyone. Another interesting observation: some 2 months before I left Mumbai, there was a beehive outside again the living room window but a little farther away. It was pulled down. Apparently in my residence, prior to me coming, they have tried three times to pull down the honeycomb but to no success.

Based on my observations, bees are ruled by Mars (technical skills to construct a honeycomb) while I surmise wasps are ruled by Ketu (like a bee but lonely, wandering etc.). What are your views?

What do you make of the nimitta of shattered glass window due to a sudden gust of wind in heavy rain when I was trying to pull the window inwards to avoid water coming inside the room? As I was standing to the side of the window, I escaped with only a few scratches on my hand. My guess is that I would have to change residence soon.

Hari

Dear Hari

The various tastes are defined by parasara, such as sweet, sour, astringent and are attributed to various planets.

SImilary different types of liquid items(refer saptamsa) are attributed to various planets. Dadhi, ksheera, iskhurasa, .......remember?

So who rules honey then?

best wishes

Dear Partha,

Are we talking about the saptarasa or the bee? My question is about the bee and not the product. Honey for nutritive value is agni tatva (Sun or Mars) while as sweet taste is Jupiter.

Dear Partha,

You are right...the process starts from seed to tree...in the bee's case, the end-product is honey. would you define the karaka differently if I say that beeswax is also useful? or that the honeycomb is used as a heat transfer model in engineering?

On that line, why dont we try to define the karaka to differentiate a motorcycle from a bicycle?

When you say karaka what are you referring to?

Bees and wasps are stinging insects, that inject poison. Some bees

make honey as a side benefit. There are more and more cases of

African honey bees attacking and killing people in the USA.

There is the sign scorpio. And Rahu and Ketu.Mars pierces and their

stinger is like a little sword they use as a weapon!

Also being bitten by insects/snakes/etc is one of the miseries of

life.

Interesting thought.

Curious now to see charts of people who were stung alot by

bees/wasps.

A good portion of the world population gets sick/die from mesquito

bites.

Lakshmi

Namaste Smt Lakshmi Kary,

Yes these are good points. If I recollect correctly, Ketu denotes boils while Mars can refer to sharp surgical instruments.

Hopefully Sanjay or learned scholars will contribute here. I do not understand your question fully but would say that I am talking about naisargika karaka or primary karaka depending on the meaning behind your question.

Hari

Dear Lakshmi,

I agree with your analysis and put just Ketu for bees. All compound

animals like Ants, Bees etc where there is one Queen bees and rest

just follow them can be categorised under Ketu. Parashara also says

Ketu is multiple. Ketu rules vertical direction and hence can fly.

Ketu is also very technical and can do very routine jobs. Look at all

those ants!.

Similar to terrorists where there is one head and all of them just

follow blindly or even say spiritual groups too :), The difference?

Warm Regards

Sanjay P

Dear Sanjay P,

Thanks, make sense .

I thought this was an interesting post (below)- I saw it on V-A list

but it has to do with we were talking about, this fellow was stung

I thought I shall share this information with all of you.

Dear Sanjay P,

I cannot agree to your inference. Sun rules the eastern direction so birds must fly in the eastern direction?

I think Mars is also a form of Rudra (mrityu?) so that could explain the tendency of bees to kill when flying in a swarm. Otherwise the defining characteristic of bees is their architectural excellence. I thus say that bees are ruled by Mars while wasps as an octave of bees are ruled by Ketu (stings, boils) etc.

Lets take another example: The karaka for elephant is Jupiter (no dispute here?). Is it because:-

(a) It has a good memory?

(b) It is large in size (akasa tatva binding the tissues)? In which case, the karaka for whale should be Jupiter also?

So havent we heard of rogue elephants? the ones which kill humans?

regards

Hari

Om Gurave Namah

Dear Hari,

Namaste. Please forgive me for butting in.

With reference to architecture, Sri Raman feels that

aesthetics are ruled by Venus, science by Mercury and

skill by Saturn. All planets ruling prithwi tattwa

houses!

Howzzat!

Regards,

Lakshmi

Om Gurave Namah

Namaste Hari,

If I remember correctly, Mars represents land while

Ketu represents buildings(griha)-ref: turyamsa in

varga chakra book.

Mars does rule engineering (logic)but perhaps more on

the side of electrical engg and such. Communication

engg might fall into the domain of Mercury, you know?

So similarly with architecture.

regards,

Lakshmi

SARVAM GYANANANDAMAYAM

AUM GURUBYO NAMAH

Dear Sanjay,

Pranams. i was off list for some time. Though belated

kindly accept my birthday wishes too. i take this

opportunity to pray Mother to Bless you all-round

success.

Now coming back to this topic. Sani the Kala is the

karaka for ignorance(6/8/12) which acts as a

projector/Spider. Sani moves around with the objective

of bringing forth the swabava of the individual.

Ignorance is the causative factor for the cobweb of

Ahankara. This means the chara AK is the cobweb. The

awareness of this karmic secretion is on account of

the grace of BK. Ista devatha is the duster.

Regards & Respects.

Astrologically & spiritually yours,

p.s.ramanarayanan.

Dear Vishwanadham

Both are if they are marrying with a motive, none are if they are fulfilling the grihasta dharma.

So we are back to the basic question :)

With best wishes and warm regards,

jyotisa [jyotisa ] On Behalf Of vishwanathamWednesday, August 10, 2005 5:59 AMjyotisa Subject: primary karaka for bee and wasp?

Hare Rama KrishnaDear Sanjay Ji, NamaskarThanks for your reply. Maya is explained very nicely by you, in a few words. While the boy and the girl are innocent, it is the maya played through Rahu - Ketu .... who is the real pray here? Probably one would reach a stage to consider the body as a clothing to be shed one dayThanks again for your note.regardsSuryaviswanadhamjyotisa , "Guru Sanjay Rath" <guruji@s...> wrote:> > > |om namo bhagavate vasudevaya|> Dear Vishwanadham> Cob webs are made by spiders for the purpose of trapping the prey they will> eat.
