Guest guest
OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH JAYA JAGANNATHA Namaste Karu, Thanks for your reply. Regarding Ayana:- I think, Gurudeva hinted, while we discuss the lesson, that the Ayana asked in the question is about the vertical movement, i.e. the latitude. Some of the Panchang and Almanac have the details of latitude of the planets on a particular day. I think this latitude only determines the eclipse. You see, Sun-Moon-Rahu are conjoin or in opposite (as the case may for Solar or Lunar eclipse), in 4 times a year, but eclipse happens only occasionally. Some astrologers give more stress to this aspect of latitude of a planet. Moreover, in Ayana, as per BPHS Notes, Saumayana and Yamaayana is given with different definition for the Ruling of SUN. I was working with this lesson few weeks back but could not finish due to my unsettled mind. How ever, please let me share my understanding about Hora, Ayana and Bhoomandala lesson, as follows. This is my independent view not altered from your mail. We know, that we never had the correct answer to the AYANA question in lesson 3. I will start from there. Astronomical points. **Sun have a vertical component of motion called declination or "Ayana". Due to 23 1/2 degrees angle of the Earth, half of the year, Sun is in below the equator and other half of the year Sun is in upper. From mid of February to mid of August Sun is traveling from Aquarius to Cancer and rest of the year Sun is travelling through Leo to Capricorn. You may see this vertical movement of Sun is in maximum in mid of May (Uttarayana) and mid of November (Dakshinayana). We know that Uttarayana is Moon's Hora and the Dakshinayana is Sun's Hora. Latest lesson we learn the principle of Drekkana and Kendra. But since we missed answer to Ayana question we did not understand this D-2 chart or Hora chart. Ayana is the DIRECTION. Moon's hora and Uttarayana always reckoning as auspicious while Sun's Hora and Dakshinayana is inauspicious. Since you have tried to figure out about the Hora theory, I am not trying to modify it. But my understanding is HORA CHART is the base of AYANA. It is saying which direction is the planet is. Now, a little disagreement with you. I was reading Chapter 7, (The Sixteen Divisions of a Sign) of BPHS (GCSharma). When I read the definition for HORA divisional chart, sloka 5-6,page 98, I noticed that nowhere it is mentioned that the resultant signs forHORA CHART should be Cancer or Leo. It is only mentioned that for Odd rasi, first half is ruled by Sun and second half is ruled by Moon. Reverse is forEven rasi. It does not mean that it has to be Cancer or Leo. When sages wentin detail and divided the sign into 60 parts in Shastiamsa and assigned asign for each portion, I don't think, the very important and simple chart ofHORA will be limited to 'ONLY' 2 signs. It does not sound logical andcorrect You saying "It does not mean that it has to be a Cancer or Leo.." This two rasis are the controlling rasi for ayana - direction. Now see, D30 is using to see negative side of the soul (or misfortune) but do not have Cancer or Leo for D30. Same way I believe, D-2 do not have (This particular D-2) other signs or Pancha tatwa. which means we must see the FORTUNE/ DIRECTION from D-2 or AYANA of the soul. (Please do not mixed with D-9 fortune). What sort of Fortune ??. According to my limited understanding, I like to refer two slokas from Bhagavad Gita 8.24 and 8.25. "Those who know the Suprime Brahman attain that suprime by passing away from the world during the influence of fiery god, in the light,at an auspicious movement of the day, during the fortnight of the waxing moon, or during the six months when the Sun travels in the north.." This all my poor understanding which could lead to lot of errors. I thought, I better discuss this with you all and rectify if some thing wrong. But the question about the Ayana is still not answered. Determine the ayana of the planets in the horoscope of a native..... Answer could be Uttaryana/ Dakshinayana or Moon/Sun hora. But How can I calculate this vertical movement of a planet. If I understand correctly, Only Sun have this vertical motion. Then how can I find ayana of other planets.?
