Guest guest
Dear Vahe, Welcome to SJVC and Varahamihira! I am cc'ing this mail to varahamihira for the benefit of other students. It is not true that having Jupiter and Venus in the same rasi is bad. They are the best benefics and the house containing them will benefit from their presence. This is especially true if they are not functional malefics. However, there is a difference between the natures of Juputer and Venus. Jupiter is a saattwik Brahmin and Venus is a raajasik Brahmin. Jupiter is diplomatic, peaceful and likes making everyone happy. Venus is passionate and blunt. Though both are wise and learned, they take people in two different directions - sattwa (truth and purity) and rajas (passion and energy). This causes a clash. Jupiter makes you happy with what you have. Venus makes you want more. Jupiter gives you contentment. Venus gives passion and desires. Jupiter makes you be nice to people. Venus gives energy that can sometimes make you blunt. Jupiter is good at " knowing " things. Venus is good at " applying " things. Jupiter is intelligent. Venus is clever. If you want to be a good astrology researcher, you need the blessings of both Jupiter and Venus. Venus gives you passion for knowledge and makes you work hard (if he has the influence of Saturn also). If you are worried about Jupiter and Venus in your 9th house, you shouldn't worry. Being the 5th and 7th lords, they give a raja yoga. Being in GL and aspecting lagna and HL, they are great yogadas for you. In navamsa, they are in trines (Jupiter in Cn and Venus in Sc). If the two teachers are in trines in navamsa, they will give you excellent knowledge. In D-24, the chart of knowledge, Jupiter is exalted in the 2nd house of speech and 5th lord (intuition and scholarship) Venus is in 3rd and has an unobstructed argala on 2nd. This influence will certainly make you a brilliant astrologer. With such Jupiter and Venus being in the 9th house in rasi chart (with lagna lord and Mercury), you will use your knowledge at the physical level in the pursuit of dharma. Mythologically, BTW, Jupiter was a student of Venus and yet they are enemies. Jupiter is the priest of Gods and Venus is the priest of Demons.
