Guest guest
Jaya Jagannath! Dear Pt Sanjay Rath, Thank you for your answer. >There is a lesson on Ketu which you can download from the archives of this >list. Thereafter if you have doubts, I can help. If it's lesson 9 you mean, I have it. I looked through it and these are my conclusions. Please correct. Ketu acts as Mars and Rahu acts as Saturn, thus Scorpio, being mooltrikona sign of Mars becomes the sign co-owned by Ketu and Aquarius, being mooltrikona sign of Saturn, becomes co-owned by Rahu. Taurus, being the opposite of Scorpio, becomes another swarasi of Rahu, having as it's lord Venus, thus Taurus lagna persons will prove to have strong material desires. Leo, being the opposite of Aquarius, will not have any co-ownership since it is owned by Sun, the strongest luminary. It is described in the lesson that Ketu attains it's Gaja Rupa in Sagittarius, which is Ketu's exaltation sign, and Rahu opposite from it in Gemini. As for Virgo and Pisces, Rahu would own Virgo also and Ketu Pisces. The logic behind this is that Virgo has full earth content, and Parvati devi had made her " son " from clay, thus after Shiva killed the boy, the body was preserved and Ketu is opposite from it. Now to understand the 4-headed form of Ketu, same as Lord Brahma or Shiva or Hanuman etc, in higher dimensions of creation the devas have many heads to look in the different directions. In the same way, just as His father Lord Shiva, Ganesha has 5 heads, the primary one is the one of elephant, Gaja Rupa and the other heads look in the different directions. Take the 4 dual signs, since Ganesha was revived by Lord Vishnu and thus maintained by Him, then we see that the 4 dual signs are appointed to the 4 directions. Gemini - Aja Rupa, with goat head - looking at the West direction Virgo - Haya Rupa, with horse head - looking at the South direction Sagittarius - Markata Rupa, with monkey head - looking at the East direction Pisces - Go Rupa, with head of Cow - looking at the North direction We know there are ten directions, and the signs owned by Sun and Moon are excepted from these forms of Ketu, as such the other signs give the ten directions, 8 geometrical plus up and down. Then Sagittarius would naturally be up direction, where Ketu attains it's Gaja Rupa, and Gemini down direction. Naturally when one looks down one sees his body (Rahu) and when one looks up, one is situated in the head (Ketu). Or the body looks at the head (Rahu) and the head looks at the body (Ketu). See also the logic behind the directions: goat head is the lowest (it's also the natural 3rd house in the Zodiac) - kama- (we see the farther one goes West, the more degraded people are, BTW I heard a joke that California is the most degraded on earth, because one can translate it as the fort of Kali - kali-yuga), then horse head is the next one (the natural 6th house) - artha - , next is monkey head (the 9th house of the zodiac) -dharma- , next Cow head (the 12th house) -moksha-. The fact that Gaja Rupa is attained in 9th house of dharma, is a remarkable fact, by which Lord Ganapati is showing us that to follow one's principles of dharma is highest proces of religion, even more than the strive to attainment of moksha. Now, to come back to the ownerships, we see the nodes primarily co-lord over fixed signs, Scorpio-Aquarius-Taurus except for Leo which is owned by Sun, secondarily over dual signs. The reason for this would be that Ganesha was killed by His father, Shiva, thus the fixed signs, and after that, the dual signs because life was restored in Him by Vishnu, Gemini-Virgo-Sagittarius- Pisces, attaining it's full form in Sagittarius as Gaja Rupa. One could then ask why not the movable signs are owned by the nodes? Well, since Ganesha is not a creation by Lord Brahma, but it was Goddess Parvati who made Him from clay, so the nodes do not belong to Brahma's signs. And as such, because they are linked with destruction, they become enemies of Sun and Moon, and the movable signs. Wonderful story! Your servant, Dhira Krsna dasa PS. I saw pictures of Lord Jagannath being dressed in His elephant outfit. Is this related with Ganesha or is it something else?
