Guest guest
Om Krishnaaya Namah Hi All, Apologies for not participating for so long. My computer's been 'sick' over the past three weeks, so I've been busy emptying out my crammed mailbox, and will go through the discussions from the archives. I haven't yet looked at any of the discussions with regards to the VRY exercises except upto Question two, which I last answered. I noticed the schedule seems to have been extended on those exercises, so for what it's worth, since I have planned out the answers on paper, I'll post them over the next few days before I read the archives. I also notice that there has been a new Lesson, so I'll also post my answers to that soon. First, I'll start with Question three on VRY. " Would You consider your horoscope to be one of Raja Yoga or of Pravrajya Yoga, or is there too much confusion? " I think there's too much confusion! There's trends to both sides in my humble opinion, but no strong deciding factor to either side. My data: 24 July 1982 9:22 am BST Coventry, England 52N25, 1W30 Lagna = 19* Leo or so. Starting with the Pravrajya Side: 1. There is a Parivartana Yoga between the first and twelfth Lords, which contributes to an interest in Moksha and spiritual matters. One of these Lords is the Chara AK while the other is the naisargika AK. If that is significant or not, I'm not sure. 2. Ketu is in very close aspect to the Lagna, and Ketu is sometimes known as jnana karaka and moksha karaka. 3. Ketu is in the fifth disposed by Jupiter. Perhaps this also contributes to spiritual interests. 4. Mars the Lord of the ninth is conjunct Deva Guru Brihaspati, and this may contribute to a religious nature. This combination aspects the ninth, with Mars protecting his own house and Jupiter, a karaka of the ninth enhancing ninth-related significations. 5. Out of the third and sixth from Arudha Lagna, the sixth is empty and the third is occupied by only the benefic Moon, who is also AK. 6. Saturn, the renunciate is in the Upa Pada, while the second from UL is only afflicted by Mars, so this is a bit shady. Moving onto D-20, the Vimshamsha... 6. The Moon, representing Lord Sri Krishna, is exalted in the fifth. 7. There are altogether three planets exalted or in own houses. Maybe, or maybe not, these strong planets help enhance the significations of the Varga??? 8. The two Sattvik, Dharmic Grahas Sun, and Jupiter occupy the ninth. This is a trend towards Dharmic matters. Also both these planets are Lords of Moksha houses. 9. The Lords of the eighth and ninth are in Parivartana, while the ninth Lord is conjunct the nodes. That's what I can see for the spiritual side. On the Raja Yoga side, here's what I can find: 1. Mars, a Raja Yoga Karaka is conjunct Jupiter, the other trine Lord, making a Raja Yoga. But this is in the third, and is therefore weakened. The third being an Upachaya may indicate that matters will improve over time. 2. Jupiter, the PiK and Moon, the AK are in Mutual aspect, with no interference except from Mars, who is Raja Yoga Karaka and a Yogada by virtue of being the Lord of Hora Lagna, aspecting Ghati and Udaya Lagna's, and also being Lord of the seventh from Ghati Lagna. I can't see much more in the Rasi chart, so in the Dashamsha: 3. Mercury and the Sun, the Lords of the fifth and seventh conjoin forming a Raja Yoga, and the Sun also happens to be a Yogada. But this combination is weakened by the fact that the Sun is weak in Dig Bala (debilitated, one might say), and also the combination is aspected by natural malefic Mars. 4. Detrimental to Raja Yoga is the fact that Venus, the Lord of GL and HL, is debilitated in the eighth. So D-10 seems pretty weak. But D-5, the Panchamsha appears to tell a different story. 5. In this chart, one strong planet is said to be significant. I have Rahu in Gemini (which however also means Ketu in Gemini), Mercury in Virgo, Saturn in Capricorn and Mars in Aries. Jaimini also tells us that Raja Yoga in the ninth from Lagna or Arudha Lagna is important. The ninth from my Panchamsha Lagna contains Jupiter and Venus, the two natural benefics who form a Raja Yoga by also being the Lord of Kendra and Trikona. Both their dispositors (Rahu and Saturn) are also strong. So, this is far too confusing for me. Any help?
