Dear Guruji,

This article is very interesting and I analysed my chart based on the

article. I need some clarification on some points.

1.The sex determination is OK for my second son.

2.For my first son the workings defer.

The fifth lord of Saptamsa,Mars is in Vrichika with Ketu.

As per rule (a) Even sign - female

(b) With Ketu - female

I checked with my wife chart

The ninth lord of Saptamsa, Moon is in Mesha with debilitated Saturn.

As per rule (a) Conjoins debilitated planet - female

(b) Conjunct with Saturn - female

© Placed in Odd sign - male.

So, in both cases predominantly it shows female. Please clarify.

My Birth data :- 21st November 1964, 1.30 PM, 78E50, 9N23.

Birth Data of my wife:- 6th July 1968, 9.50 AM, 78E36, 9N33.

3.What is mean by 'planets having Argala'.

Thanks

N.Solai Kannan

Dear Karu & Balaram,

I will be studying your Saptamsa soon. You both would do well to recite the

Santana Gopala Mantra. I have already given this mantra in the list earlier.

Perhaps YND or sarat can find it and mail it here.

Best Wishes

Jaya Jaya Jagannath,

Dear Sarat Prabhu,

Would you be kind enough to explain about this Manthra. Since this is the first time I heard about this I do not know anything. Is it for overcome negative influences regarding children; such as miscarriages etc. ?

Thanks in advance.

This is a prayer to Sri Krishna, to give a child to the couple.

Sanjayji explan=iend that the prayer should be recited especially

by the mother, who wishes to have a child, if this does not hapen

or if her chart indicates barrenness or miscarriages. The

repetition is fo the prayer is especially effective during the

full moon nights of every month.

I try to explain the words of the mantra as much as I understand

them

Om is the prefix in every mantra, so the best thing is to begin

this one also with Om.

Devakisutam - the darling child of Devaki (Krishna's name)

Govindam - One who pleases the senses of His devotees (Krishna's

name)

Vaasudevam - the son of Vasudeva (Krishna's name)

Jagat-patim - the Lord of the universe ( Jagannatha)

Dehi Me - please give me or grant me

Tanayam - a son

Krishna - Oh, Lord Krishna

Tvaam - to You

Aham - me

Saranaagataha - surrendered

Translation: Oh, Lord Krishna, who is the son of Vasudeva and

Devaki, the Lord of the universe, and one who pleases the senses

of His devotees, I surrender myself to You. Please grant me a

son!

Yours, Gauranga das

Dear Solai,

in case no one has answered your message, please let me try. Your

saptamsa when

calculated with mean nodes instead of true nodes has exalted Ketu in

Sagittarius in

sixth rashi. This has the lordship of Scorpio and so shows a male child.

Planets having argala is a principle from Jaimini Sutras and means planets

involved or hinged to the planet in question. The houses in which planets

give

argala are 2nd, 3rd( malefics only), 4th, 11th and also from the 5th and 7th

somewhat..

Planets in other houses obstruct argalas. Planets in the 12th obstruct

argala

from the 12th; 3rd from 11th and vice versa; 4th and 10th; 5th and 9th.

Dear Karu, thanks for referring me to page 327 of COVA.

But what I am really asking is where did you learn that the tithi rules

given on page 327 refer to the 10th from the paka lagna of a child in

D-7?

Thanks again,

Sat Nam,

Sat Siri
