My question is as follows: You have stated that the coincidence of the tropical and sidereal Zodiac marks the starting point of Kali yuga. According to Lahiri Ayamamsha this coincidence occurred in 285 AD. But as per the historical records Kai yuga began in 3102 BC. So which one is the correct? I have also put a question on matching of the Sun signs in marriage, but you didn't answer. Do you mean to say in the article that if the couple has common Sun signs (i.e. born in the same month) then is gives spiritual compatibility. What if the signs are in trines or opposition? I have written that according to Lahiri the coincidence was in 285 AD. But the statement in your intro.htm seemed to be contradictory. Here's the quote: Sankranti: The dates assigned to the signs of the zodiac are based on the solar ingress (i.e. entry of the Sun) of the signs. Depending on the value of Ayanamsa used, this date can vary by a few days and different " astrologers " assign slightly different dates based on their belief on the date of conjunction of zero point of the precession and Aries (called beginning of Kali Yuga) and the rate of the precession. The Government set up a committee called the Calendar reforms committee to correct the anomaly between the beliefs of different Vedic calendars. The result was what is popularly called the Rashtriya Panchang (National Calendar) and the Lahiri Ayanamsa. So did you mean that Aries is the beginning of Kali yuga not because the zodiacs coincide but because the planets were lined up there?
