Guest guest Posted July 11, 2000 Report Share Posted July 11, 2000 JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Gurudeva, Pranaams. I was studying Jaimini's Sutras about Ishta-devata from the 12th from Karakamsha. At the same place he is advising to see Ishta also in the 6th from Amatyakarak. He does not specify whether this is to be seen from Rasi or Navamsha. In the context it would be Navamsha as before and after he was speaking about the Navamsha positions. But if we are to see the Ishta from possibly two different houses in Navamsha, then wouldn't it be much confision out of involvement of too many planets? Somehow I insitinctively looked 6th from AmK in Rasi, and had good results with it. My logic was that the same sigification looked upon in two different divisional charts might gve more sense. Also AmK shows the mind, so it gets subtle enough even in Rasi. And another thought: 6th from AmK in Rasi may give the Ishta that the person worships publicly (like a pujari) and 12th from Karkamsha may give the Ishta that the person worships in their heart.
