Dear Zoran,

I liked your concepts and applied them to myself. My

horoscope is attached under. I have karka lagna and

aslesha nakshatra rising. My moon sign is Makara (in

the 7th hse) in Uttarashadha nakshatra.

Discussing abt mental inclinations, I would say I pick

up my mental traits from uttarashadha rather than

aslesha nakshatra. Aslesha nakshatra would make me

take advantage of others given an opportunity, imbibe

me with aggression... However, I am respectful

towards elders, less aggressive, wiser with

experience, all the traits of uttarashadha nakshatra.

However, aslesha is owned by Budha and is placed in my

fifth house along with Surya, who owns uttarashadha.

Moreover, my Guru is in 6th from Lagna and 12th from

my Chandra. Guru in 12th from Chandra does make a

person a lot more forgiving. I am not able to place

my sober nature to either Aslesha, Uttarashadha or

Guru.

Can you help me analyse this further?

Speaking of my mental aptitude, I have a standard

above average IQ of 132. Where does that come from?

Budha (in Anuradha) or Uttarashadha or Surya (in

Jyeshtha) or Shukra (in own house in Vishakha)?

Your comments would be most welcome.

Really? I've got Venus and Jupiter in the 4th in Scorpio, while

Ketu is in 1st, and Mars is the Atmakaraka in Libra, so they have

Parivartana. Would they cause liberation?

So what would this Atmakarak Mars cause in my case in Libra?

Maybe some kind of preaching activities?

Jay Jay Sri Jagannatha

What about Budha Aditya yoga in 5th, and ruler of that house in 4th together

with Malavya Yoga

Venus who is Atmakaraka at the same time. Was IQ that high in childhood also?

Otherwise Sun is

the natural significator of 9th house(higher education), and placed in 5th gives

knowledge in a

way that a person seeks ilummination(sun-sun rays) in all that he learns. And

conjunction of

mercury(analysis) adds to it - and mercury is not burned so he participates in

Yoga. And they

permanently aspect lagna and involve you. And Mars and venus in 4th(formal

education)-12th from

Sun are forming a Vesi yoga, meanining formal recognition follows natural

abilities of Sun.

Best regards,

Zavisa

p.s. Also you've got AK Venus in 4th. Do you remember that Sanjay said that Moon

or Venus in

4th lead a person to liberation. Also Venus is conjuct ketu in navamsa and under

an aspect of

Saturn.

I would like to use this opportunity to ask Sanjay something to further delve

into the mistery

of AK. Does position of AK represents the desire of the soul? Now, obviously you

said that

before, that AK does represent the desire of the soul and lagna lord abilities,

so there

shoudn't be a mismatch from AK for forming yogas.

But does the fact that Ak represents the desires of the soul means that he is

closely connected

to the karma we carry from past lives(as soul obviously reincarnates and body

does not) and as

such represents the ways of our spiritual advancement. Also place in 12th from

it in Dharmamsa

is a place of losing all Karma and liberation? And position in different houses

in Rasis show

our natural aptitude from past life/lives?

Not that lagna is not involved into spirituality, obviously as you said it is

HRIM, but in the

lines of further understanding AK, can you comment on the above.

JAYA JAGANNATHA!

Dear Gurudeva and Zoran,

Pranaams.

I'm trying to use Zoran's principle. My Lagna Rasi is Leo, with

the Sun in the 5th in Sagittarius. So I'm predominantly of Pitta

disposition, with excellent appetite and Is peak loudly (as the

Sun gives energy to Mercury, lord of the 2nd house). The Sun is

BhratriKaraka, so my Guru Maharaja is also Pitta type, and I have

a strong attachment to Him. Can Bhratrikarak lording Lagna and in

trines show a relationship with my Guru in previous life?

Mercury is Darakarak, so my wife looks much similar to me. Merc.

is also lord of the 11th, where the Moon is. This creates a good

attraction for her in my mind, and she also brings gains, but is

more often sick than me. Moon in here may show varicose veins

that she has, as it's also in the 2nd from Upapad.

Let's see the Nakshatra. 2nd portion of Magha. Nakshatra'slord is

Ketu, which is placed in the same Nakshatra. So this gives a

strong spiritual interest and a desire for emancipation. Bun

Nakshatra Pada (or Navamsha) is lorded by Venus, so I'm not

really detached. This may cause some contradiction, as the desire

for tapas may be high, but the practical ability fails sometimes.

This is further strengthened by Mercury placed in the same

Navamsha. So this has to be balanced by the detached performance

of duty.

Subhakaran in his book about Nakhatras says that I have to be of

medium height, of hairy body, and innocent looking. Enterprising,

Gpd-fearing, receives honour from the learned, able to plan,

hot-tempered, hidden enemies, does not tolerate untruth, etc.

Gives a good description of my nature.

Now see the Moon. She is in Gemini Rasi under the aspect of Sun

and Mercury from Sag. My mind is very versatile, and bent upon

many topics, which change frequently. A big breakthrough came

since I'm sturying Jyotish, since this has been going on for

three years now without interruption. But my mind is difficult to

control. Sun and Merc. help from the 5th, so inteligence si

strong, and able to control the mind. Moon is Gnati Karak, so is

good for Jyotish, as Mercury is the lord, and is placed in Jup.

sign. Sun also protects me from misusing this science (I hope).

But I tend to get puffed up with false ego because of my

knowledge. Also gives good intuition, as it's in the 12th from

the 12th.

Also Moon is in Mrigashira Nakshatra, lorded by Mars. But the

presiding deity is Chandra, so Mrigashira gives good mental

ability. But Moon is in the 4th quarter, lorded again by Mars.

Mars is the Atmakaraka, so gives many spiritual thoughts, and is

in the 5th from Moon, so strengthens logic and intelligence. Also

gives a strong desire for brahmacarya, but Mars is in libra, so

lust has a strong influence still.

Subhakaran says that one with the Moon in this Pada has strong

physique, and deals with medicines 9yes, sometimes). Water in the

lung is indicated, but I would rather say throat problems, and

phlegm collecting there, as Mars is in the 3rd from Lagna.

I can accept Zoran's proposition, with the observation that the

Rasi position would manifest it's effects rather externally,

while the Nakshatra and Pada more internally, mentally. If with

the Moon we compare the two positions, the stronger will show

whether the person is extroverted or intorverted. One whose Moon

is stronger in Rasi than in Nakshatra, would reveal more of his

mind, while one with the opposite, will hide more. Similarly we

could go with all of the planets.

Am I correct, Gurudeva, or not?

Your shishya, Gauranga das

Thank you for the analysis! I did not calculate my IQ

when I was a child (nor had the means to), but I can

surely tell you that I had to struggle learning

languages. The mental processing improved largely

around 10-11 years of age and then around 19 years and

then 23 and then substantially at 25 years. Life was

a supreme struggle before I was 10!

When I was 25 in 1997 and Transit Guru aspecting my

natal Chandra, I was initiated into Astrology by a

friend whom I happen to bump into. That was good

education in 3 months!! I lost him as a friend in

that same year, thanks to Swa Rashi Guru-Debilitated

Rahu conjunction in sixth!

The owner of the 5th is 12th from its own house, thus

actually I should not be able to capitalise so much on

my education. As you rightly pointed out, I have

studied in some of the finest educational

institutions. Can you please elaborate on the vesi

yoga? Will AK venus along with Mars (who is also the

owner of 10th house) help me in my occupation? I have

been working as a consultant all my occupational

career. The A10 has Chandra in the 7th. Moreover,

the owner of 10th house from the 10th house is also

the same Chandra in 7th! So far I have done nothing

except Consulting. I have moved from assignment to

assignment. During the same Guru transit over Chandra

in 1997, I moved out of Management Consulting into a

more focussed Systems Consulting (a part of IT

consulting). Please forgive the digression to

Occupation but it has set me worrying for the time

being.

I also look forward to Gurudeva's remarks on the AK

along with spirituality, liberation et al.

Warm Regards,

Jitendra

Maybe it's because the fourth (along with the eighth

and twelfth) is one of the Moksha houses???

I would really like to hear explanation on this. Why does the moon and venus due

to theirs drig

bala recieve the ability to direct the person to the path of liberation? So far,

only thing I

could speculate was that 4th is the house of, obviously emotions, so these

planets in 4th could

give bhakti and Krishna said bhaktya mam abhijanati... Maybe(or probably should

I say) there is

Excellent point. What is more, guru is in 9.house from arudha lagna, unfortunately

with rahu who

is badly afflicting it being in dhanu.Mars and venus are having argal over

it,from the house

of formal education.Guru(dhi-shakti)is lord of navamsa lagna which is

excellent.

I am happy to hear that with my venus in 4.house too.For navamsa, they should

be in trines,to be

more prononced. However, venus is in karakamsa with ketu, with shani's

aspect.This should have

come from previous birth(excellent tapaswi yoga)

Atmakarak is to cleanse the soul,by punishing the native. If placed in kona from

lagna,it will

follow the

the same dharma. If placed in kendra from lagna,it will become natural coworker.

4/8/12 houses are moksha houses, and the 4.th is only kendra, thus the

strongest.Moon and venus

have digbal in there.4.house apart singifies the qualities of the

Fourth, eighth and twelfth are moksha trikonas as rightly pointed out by

Purshottam I think in one of the subsequent mails. Amongst the three,

fourth is a kendra and hence gives an ayan or direction and the ayan

signified by the fourth is Moksha. As you all know, fourth is also the

house of mother, emotions, hridaya. To be able to reach the lord i.e., for

final liberation, the blessings of mother is a must. When we say blessings

of mother, it is the divine mother Gauri also as without it nobody can reach

Sri Narayana as rightly explained by Sri Adi Shankara who said - " GATISTVAM

GATISTVAM TVAMEKA BHAVANI " . As Moon and Venus (being benefics and

representing mother etc.,) gain dig bala in the fourth house they naturally

conduct the person towards moksha.

In fact, the life story of Sri Adi Shankara itself very clearly explains the

importance of mothers blessings before one takes sanyas to attain the lord.

Sri Adi Shankara, as a small child, desired taking sanyas and his mother

kept objecting to it. Without mothers blessings it was impossible for him

to take to sanyas. It so happened that one day, while taking bath in the

river he was caught by a crocodile and while he was struggling to free

himself the crocodile wouldn't let him go. His mother who was on the banks

was desparate. He beseached his mother to allow him to take sanyas as he

was destined for it as otherwise the crocodile wouldn't free him from its

grip. Soon after his mother relented to his request, the crocodile set him

free and took the form of Lord Shiva. It was actually lord Shiva who had

taken the form of crocodile to help Adi Shankara get his mothers blessings

before he took sanyas.

Hope its now clear why Moon and Venus in the fourth help in the direction of

moksha.

Regards,

Sarat.

Dear Zoran,

Jaya Jagannath

It is ONLY the Moon and NOT Venus. Remember Sankaracharya " Gatistwam

Gatistwam Twameka Bhavani " . Gati means direction of the feet to lead us to

our goals and Bhavani refers to the Divine Mother represented by the Moon or

Mind.

Best Wishes

You said previously that Venus influences also. I think you mentioned your chart

as an example.

So where does venus go in 4th?

We find the application of the same rule in Lord Chaitanya's

life. He asked permission form His mother, Sachidevi to take

sannyas and go to Puri. Actually He wanted to go to Vrindavana,

but He was able to stay there only a few days, and He settled in

Puri, where His mother ordered Him to go.

What wuld they give in the other two moksha houses?

Are there any more conditions for Mokha besides Moon and Venus

being in the 4th? I mean that many may have them there, but be

completely materialistic and not attain liberation. Do they have

to be there toether?

Dear Zavisa,

Jaya Jagannath

That is a nice question. Venus and Moon are poles apart. My wife will want me to work hard and earn as much money for the family comfort whereas my mother will want that I should eat well, sleep well and be happy. Happiness is the key to MOKSHA. That is why the naisargika (Natural) mantra for all beings is "Hare Krishna" which is a four akshara (letter) mantra (from Mana-Mind and Trai- to protect). Here the reference is to the Moon (Krishna as the Moon takes the Mind to His Holy feet).

Venus is the opposite. Venus should also be in such a mode of giving and not taking. In a mood of fasting and not overeating. In a mood of abstinence instead of desire. Such a mood is the reversal of the basic nature of Venus. That is why when all the planets orbit the Sun in the clockwise direction, Venus orbits in the anti-clockwise direction i.e. it is going in the naturally wrong path and is the cause or root of all desire.

Here when we look at "WOMANHOOD" (Pearl & Phyl I hope you are reading this), there are two major roles: That of a Mother (Matri) and that of the wife (Stri). The role as Matri is most vital as this rules Bhu Loka where we live and thus the Divine Mother or all mothers actually run this world. Unless the Mother blesses, it is not possible to make even an inch of progress in this direction.

Venus with Ketu indicates abstinence while with Rahu it indicates gluttony. Coming to primary significators, Venus rules SUKHA or happiness and thus a good Venus can give long term or permanent happiness instead of hankering for short term hapiness.

Digbala of Venus is important no doubt, but what is more important is the purity of Venus.

Best WishesSanjay Rath

What happens of venus is with rahu(greed/gluttony) and with

saturn(atmakarak-the protector)in my own chart?

Saturn restricts and turns to inwardness, but rahu expands in a weird

way>Ketu influences these planets via rashi

tulya navamsa.

With best regards,

Atmakarak wins..whenever I get to pleasures,comforts ets,I get severely

punished.Lord

Brahma(Shani) is there to punish me at once, whenever I tend to forget my

path.For that

reason,I can never permanently enjoy in pleasures.Your atmakarak is Shani

too.You

certainly understand His will from your own experience.

BTW.I was born in Shani-shani-shani vimshotari dasha....

Dear sanjayji,

How would you detemine the purity of Venus? Venus in

becomes 6th, 8th, 12th impure? Does being pure also

refer to being free from rahu, ketu, mars, saturn, sun

or their aspects? Though I have Venus in Libra in 4th

house conjunct with yogakaraka mars (7th from AL),

mars eighth aspect falls on saturn in 11th in

vrishabha. In the atmakaramsa, venus is with ketu in

the 3rd house in vrishabha (6th from AL). Does that

make venus impure?

OM VISHNAVE NAMAH

Dear Jitender,

Learn to think of the signification in " other possibilities " so that the

understanding is easier. Venus rules clothes as well. Thus, a cloth can

become impure out of use (6th house or Rahu) and its use without washing can

cause disease. It can become old and worn out (8th house or saturn) or it

can become tatterd & torn (with Mars). It can be burnt (Sun) or just a piece

of rag (with Ketu)....similarly for its purity.

Shasta Sukra Maranakaraka is the worst.

Best Wishes

Dear Zoran,

Jayasri Jagannath! Danyavad! So if Venus is aspected by Rahu in the 6th there

is a major taint, also? Is this a correct assumption? I need to be careful as

Venus can get dirty by aspect from 6th house Rahu. I wonder if this has

effected me with naiveté? My husband keeps saying I am not meant for this

world. He often thinks I am too idealistic. Fortunately I spent most of my

youth (for 17 and 1/2 years of age) under the care of our beloved Srila

Prabhupada serving in His temples.

Yours in the seva of Sri Guru and Gouranga, Kusha devi dasi

<< Dear Kusha devi dasi,

Shasta Sukra Marnakaraka means that venus is badly placed in 6.house.

Thus venus ruling pleasures, placed in the 6.house can become " impure out

of use " -using Sanjay's analogy.

Yours,

Zoran
