Guest guest
Dear Karu, Another excellent attempt from you. This knowledge of Jyotish is from my last birth and I am suffering the consequences of trying to hide what was taught to me, so that is why my Atma becomes delighted when I teach and give this out. It is a happiness that cannot be matched by even the best cooking (I love good food). That Yoga about Jupiter being afflicted in the fifth results in childlessness for which Rahu causes Chandala dosha. There can be other dosha caused by the aspect of Saturn and Mars. In the Chart of Sri Rama, Mars is the fifth Lord showing that the anger is from his SISYA or BHAKTA (Narada) whereas in my chart it is from the ninth Lord Mars showing GURU or TEACHER. The reasons are seen from the lordship of Saturn. In Sri Rama's Chart it is the 7th and 8th Lord showing the marriage question whereas in my case it is the 12th & 11th lord showing the Giving of something, and more specifically it is the giving of the knowledge. I am fulfilling the promise that we make by re-distributing that knowledge now. May Jagannath Mahaprabhu help me. Best Wishes Sanjay Rath - Karu <heen <varahamihira (AT) eGroups (DOT) com> Sunday, April 23, 2000 8:25 AM [Jagannath] Curses of the Previous Birth Jaya Jaya Jagannatha, Namasthe, Dear Gurudeve Sanjay * Jupiter in trines aspects by Mars and Saturn indicates a Curse from last birth* I was able to read Chapter 85 in BPHS about Curses ( thanks Gauranga). It is only about childlessness, in results of curses by various ones, such as Snake, wife, brother etc. There is one state Curses of Brahmin as well. But non of the yogas given above rule, only the one yoga is very close to above is " If Rahu posited in sign of Jupiter the 5th house containing Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and 9th lord is posited in the 8th the children get destroyed due to Curses of Brahmins. There are some more yogas but different combination. My attempt was to find *Curses of Brahmins*, which can be applied any chart, where the yoga exist. If we take Sri Rama's chart, Saturn will be shown the punishment or the cause of sorrow relating to marriage by own 7th and 8th. By occupying in the 4th we can understand left residence. If we take your chart( if you wouldn't mind) same yoga exist. By ownership of Saturn ( from Lagna) 11th and 12th, one can understand the sorrow must be related to income and expenses, elder brother and their danger, relationship etc. Being in the 11th, it will delay or destroy above mentioned aspects in Saturn period. As above I think the given yoga can be applied for every chart, when the yoga is exist. Same way, how I can understand following Yoga . " If Jupiter being debilitated, Rahu is situated in the ascendant or in the 5th house and the lord of the 5th house is in the trick house it will donate destruction of children results of curse of Brahmins. " This too also curse of Brahmin. But cannot apply for every matter. Only for children. Would you kindly elaborate in this regards bit more for our benefic ? My questions are; 1.Is the given Yoga ( Jupiter aspect by Mars and Saturn) universally applicable ? 2.Is there any other yoga's for find out curses of Brahmins ? 3.Further question, to check the affect of the dasas, which rasi I must take as lagna ? Dasa start rasi or Ascendant rasi ? Hare Krishna Your- Sishya Karu

So far Jupiter the karaka for son is involved with Mars and Rahu. The remedy being worshipping Naga Raga (Shesanaga?) giving in charity a cow, some land, sesame seeds and some gold. This way Naga Raga will be pleased and one's family tree will continue. Some of the other remedies are to feed 10,000, 1000 or 100 brahmins according to one's means, performing the marriage of a girl. The women's remedies are: taking sea bath in an enclosure of rocks between India and Sri Lanka, recite 1,00,000 gayatri mantras, give in charity items connected to the planets causing the curse, circle around the pipal tree 1008 times, feed brahmins. Other remedies: worship Lord Vishnu, dig a well, construct a dam, or reservoir, or all of these. sloka 78 (6) chapter 83 the planets Saturn Mars and Jupiter associated in the Navamsha are mentioned. Remedies are Chandrayana? (anyone know what this means) fast, due penance three times a day, feeding brahmins and giving them presents of cash, giving in charity a cow and 5 gems with gold. Chap 83 Slokas 95-105 (2) Saturn Mars and Jupiter are mentioned again Remedy: 1) Pinda dana 2) Rudra Abhisekha 3) Giving in charity a golden idol of Brahma, a cow, a silver vessel, neelamani(?) 4) Feeding Brahmins and giving them cash. If the problems are coming from Venus and Mercury worship Lord Shiva. A remedy for Moon Jupiter problems are reciting Sanatan Gopal Mantra, wearing and worshipping the appropriate yantra and taking suitable medicines. Worship Lord Vishnu if the problems are coming from the Sun. Rudriya japa is problem comes from Saturn and Mars. By listening with rapt attention and devotion to Haribansh Purana all kinds of problems are remedied and one's family benefits. In Chapter 84 there is a whole meditation and worship upon the deities of the planets. From Lesson Two that would be dasa avatar. Chanting of Mantras Sun's... 7000 Moon's...11000 Mars.....11000 Mercury... 9000 Jupiter...19000 Venus...16000 Saturn....23000 Rahu...18000 Ketu...17000 The BPHS says Havana should be performed. I don't know what havana is. 28 or 108 offerings should be made. In Phaladeepika Chapter 12 sloka 20-22 it is stated if a curse is caused by Ketu then it is due to offense to a brahmin. Story with that ekadasi, from Varaha Purana, explains how Lalitaa fasted for his husband Lalita who was as a Gandharva transformed into a demon due to a curse from an envious serpent that was disturbed by the mistake in the melody lalita performed. By fasting on that ekadasi and later coming before the sage Sringi(who instrcted her to fast) and the deity of Lord Vasudeva, and asking Lord Vishnu that due to the merit she earned by performing ekadasi fast her husband lalita be removed from a curse, and become a gandharva again, curse was removed, and he instantly turned into a gandharva, and they ascended to heaven. Guest guest
At 16. 5. 1984 13:00:00, you wrote: >Dear Zavisa, can you please explain what or when >Kamada Ekadasi is. Thank You, Pearl > > Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Jayatah Ekadasi is every eleventh day in each Vedic Month, be it sukla or krishna paksa. Vaisnavas(worshipers of Lord Vishnu) fast on this day either by abstaining completely from food(and water sometimes) or minimally by avoiding grains and beans on that day. Now, in different Puranas there are stories connected to each Ekadasi that explain the special significance of each. I've got them in one book published by ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Institute in 1984. I don't know have they reprinted it. Story about Kamada Ekadasi is told by Lord Krishna to Maharaja Yudisthira and it involves what I have briefly stated in previos mail, that is woman fasted according to the instruction of a sage to remove the curse from her husband, who got cursed by malicious snakes. That Ekadasi(Kamada or Damanakaropani Ekadasi) comes in Caitra month, sukla paksa, that is March-April(In my country it fell on 14 apr). I am putting the calendar down so you can see the list of the rest of Ekadasies, even though this is without the explanantions of the significance of each. But to fast on Ekadasi is mandatory for a Vaisnava, at least in the manner stated above. Best wishes, Zavisa Introduction This calendar has been calculated according to the method of calculation presented in Hari-bhakti-vilas by Sri Sanatan Gosvami. In this calendar the standard time for fast days and festival days and the time by which the fast should be broken (paran) is presented according to Calcutta time, i.e. Sri Mayapura time. Frequently these dates and times in other countries will vary from those of Sri Mayapura and therefore have been calculated separately. They are noted in this calendar. All break fast times are relative to the time of local sunrise, so devotees will have to make adjustments for breaking fasts according to the time of local sunrise in their own countries. I think that by the mercy of Sri Gurudeva, all Vaisnavas and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu all the devotees around the world will be benefited by this calendar. [End of 514 Sri Gaurabda Vaisnava Calendar and start 515 Sri Gaurabda] Standard for Ekadasi break fasts. If you have observed a complete fast (without even water) you do not need to break it with grains, you can break it with caranamrita or fruit. But if you have observed Ekadasi by eating fruit and vegetables etc. then it should be broken the following day by taking grains at the times mentioned herein. Mahadvadasi is observed like Ekadasi. Never eat onions, garlic, carrots and red dahl, meat, fish or eggs, or products thereof. Foods that are restricted during Ekadasi: -Tomatos, eggplants, cauliflower, broccoli, bellpepper -Peas, chickpeas and all types of beans, including products made from beans [papadams, tofu, tempeh, grain beverages, etc.]. -Indian vegetables: karela (bitter lemon), loki, parmal, toroi, kunli, drumsticks, okra (lady fingers), banana flower. -All leafy vegetables: spinach, salads, cabbages and leafy herbs like parsley, curry leaves, neem leaves, etc. -Grains: millet, barley, farina, dalia, pasta, rice, corn, all types of dahl and all types of flour made from grains and beans (like rice flour, chickpea flour, urad dahl flour, etc.) -Starches from corn or grains and products made from and mixed with these starches like: baking soda, baking powder, certain soft drinks, custard, certain yogurts, puddings, cream cheese, sweets, candies and tapioca-balls. -Oils made from grains: corn oil, mustard oil, sesame oil etc. and products fried in these oils: nuts, potato chips certain snack foods. -Honey Spices that are used on Ekadasi are: turmeric, black pepper, ginger and salt, taken from a new or clean package. Other spices not used: sesame seeds, cumin seeds, hing, fenugreek, mustard seeds, tamarind, fennel, celery, poppy seeds, kalonji seeds, ajwain seeds, cardemon, nutmeg, cloves etc. Foods that can be taken all days of the year, including Ekadasi and Caturmasya: -All fruits (fresh and dried), all nuts and oils made from nuts. -Potatoes, pumpkin, cucumber, radish, squash (but no loki), green papaya, lemon, jackfruit, avocado, olives, coconut, buckwheat, all sugars. -All milk products, except pure milk and yogurt during Caturmasya and sweets with starches on Ekadasi. I don't know what havana is. 28 or > 108 offerings should be made. Havana is a Yajna, or fire sacrifice. Offering is made to the devatas with specific mantras, with ghee into the sacrificial fire. Guest guest
Dear Kusha Devi, The point or important lesson is to read between the lines, to try to understand what Maharishi Parasara was trying to say as the real meaning is often far more deeper than what appears in the surface. I have given this example of such an advanced Dasa system like the Moola Dasa to show the depth of the knowledge of TRADITIONAL Jyotish, and leave this question until a later date. However, keep thinking and keep reading.
