I don't understand how will this be ever possible when some of the SJVC gurus are pushing other students into the darkness of ignorance. Not that I don't want to participate on the Varahamihira list but I am totally discouraged to write anything because some persons who know a bit of Sanskrit cannot understand the basics of philosophy of Bhagavad Gita or Srimad Bhagavatam and are trying also to mislead others, and not only that but they also dare to challenge the basis of the Jyotish parampara in which SJVC is also coming and than they are posing as gurus in SJVC while they don't even understand the meaning of parampara. When I try to quote from Puranas they say that meaning of Puranas are "full of ambiguities which are interpreted by different schools in different ways" and then they quote from Purana giving their own translation without following or referring to any of previous acaryas and we are supposed to take their interpretations as absolute truth while they are asking us to ignore acaryas like Srila Prabhupada, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur and even Lord Caitanya Himself. That's why I already asked you once to remove me from Varahamihira mailing list. I am trying to stay out of conflicts, but I cannot compromise on certain things.

 

Nice explanation of this is written in Caitanya Caritamrita (Madhya Lila verses 11.101-104) by Krishnadas Kaviraj Goswami in conversation between king of Jagannatha Puri (King Prataparudra) and Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya who was top most scholar in Puri at that time:

 

The King said, “According to evidence given in the revealed scriptures, it is concluded that Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is Lord Krishna Himself. Why, then, are learned scholars sometimes indifferent to Him?”

 

The Bhattacarya replied, “A person who has received but a small fraction of mercy from Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu can understand that He is Lord Krishna. No one else can."

 

“If the mercy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is not bestowed upon a person—regardless of how learned a scholar that person may be and regardless of his seeing or listening—he cannot accept Lord Caitanya as the Supreme Personality of Godhead."

 

Then Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya quotes the verse from Srimad Bhagavatam (10.14.29):

“My Lord, if one is favored by even a slight trace of the mercy of Your lotus feet, he can understand the greatness of Your personality. But those who speculate to understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead are unable to know You, even though they continue to study the Vedas for many years."

 

On this most auspicious day of Gaura Purnima - the appearance of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu I pray that some gurus at SJVC will get this mercy and really "guide this world towards the Light of truth". Otherwise for me it is not interesting to be a part of any organization which is devoid of mercy of the most merciful which is Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
