Besides, it is a well known fact that the average rate of precession at present is about 50.2425 Seconds per year, yet all the Ayanamsa only use 50 Seconds. thus, a natural error creeps in. At present, the one that is being universally used is that of the Lahiri Committee (popularly called Lahiri Ayanamsa) of the Govt. of India that was set up to find the via-media for all the different Panchanga so that the Calander and festivals throughout India could be uniform. The committee accepted its limitations in computing the Ayanamsa and arrived at the " most reasonable ayanamsa " . I like this honesty and truth prevailing in the Report and its findings. They have left the door open for suitable changes when India is ripe for the same. Knowledge and mathematical base has to be stronger for this. In knowledge base, I refer to the understanding necessary to appreciate the concept of Chitra as in chitra Paksha, try to determine the yoga Tara etc. Others have tried Revati called Revati Paksha, while even others have tried Moola and Rohini on the basis of the initial concept of the Rahu-Sikhi axis or the elliptical shape of the motion of the earth being shortest around there. I won't be surprised if another person suggests Rohini in the future. All this will continue for some more time, but not more than 20 years or so. Thus use the Lahiri ayanamsa till you hear something from us.
