Guest guest
Dear Narayan, I would just like to add a few notes on retrogression and avastas, the way I was taught.I am also sending this e-mail to Varahamihira groops,to hear Sanjay's and other learned members opinion on this concept. On RETROGRESSION I was taught that retrograde planet is very very strong in the chart, behaving quite independently. It has strenght to manifest all its indications both good and bad.For example if jupiter is exalted and retrograde, but let's say in mrita avasta and is a lord of bad house,he will strongly eminate his exaltation qualities(karakatwas) but also his mrithavasta causing collapse in its significations will be also most pronounced,as well as his bad adhipatya. So we will get quite mix-up that will manifest differently in different areas related to jupiter in the chart. I have found this concept to be rather accurate in practice. ON AVASTAS What you stated are known as Baaladhi avastas. However there are other avastas as Lajitadhi,Sayanadhi, then what I call set of avastas related to dignity(Deepth,Swasth, Pramudith,Shant,Deen,Dukhit,Adhidukhit, and Khal.In this set I aslo include Kopa(combust) avasta and Bheeta(atichara movement)) Avasta means " state " :It describes how the planet feels. In Satyacharya, the avastas are related to shadbal,Thus, their manifestation(both good or bad) relies on shadbala. Retrograde graha will (according to what I have just mentioned)manifest strongly all its indications(avastas etc) Parashara dedicated the whole chapter to avastas.I wonder why their place in chart judgement is slightly neglected.Or Is it?
