combinations that make one a truthful person, which is a must to be a good

Jyotish.

DATTATREYA

Indian mythology has a God whose name is Dattatreya. He had many Gurus (18 I

believe)! One of them was a dog! The point of this story I believe is NOT to

denigrate Gurus but to bring home the point that Gurus come in all forms!

Another Indian saying is that when the Student is ready the Teacher will

appear. It is our percerptions that cast various " beings " as objects such as

human beings, books, animals, etc. But they all came from the Great

Mysterious Infinite symbolized by OM and that is where they vanish. Whoever

we learn from is a Guru! I am not devaluing anyone but just expressing my

understanding of one aspect of the Upanishad Mahavakya (great sentence) -

Sarvam Khalvidam Brahma - Everywhere I look I see Brahm (different from Lord

Brahama). The Universe is talking to us and the " Talker " takes many

different forms. Our challenge is to get past our sense perceptions of forms

and symbols and pay attention to what is being communicated to us!

 

SATYAVADI YOGA

In the Classics, a number of yogas have been given which ae supposed to make

one a liar. These have been called " Asatyavadi Yogas " , Satya meaning truth,

whereas Asatya meaning Untruth or lies.

 

Picking two from the list I have in my notes:

 

1) The Lord of the second occupies a rasi of Mars or Saturn, while malefics

are placed in kendras and trikonas.

 

2) If the Lord of the fifth and Mercury occupy Rasis of Mars and Saturn.

 

It seems to me, that if these combinations produce liars, then by changing

the appropriates parts of the combination, we can come up with truth yogas

or " Satyavaadi Yogas " . So we could say:

 

1) The Lord of the second occupies a rasi of Venus or Jupiter, while

benefics are placed in Kendras and trikonas.

 

2) If the Lod of the fifth and Mercury occupy Rasis of Venus and Jupiter.

 

Of course with all yogas one must consider the rest of the horoscope. Any

thoughts?

 

Another thing... For any type of serious lying, the morality of the person

must be seriously flawed. So it would probably also be a good idea to judge

the fourth house along with it's Lord.
