[Jagannath] Guru-Chandaala Yoga

Guru-Chandala, Aditya Chandala and Chandra-Chandala are the yogas where

Jupiter, Sun, and Moon conjoin Rahu. Rahu represent extreme materialistic

tendencies, so these yogas give gross materialistic intelligence

(dur-matih), matreialistic ego and ambitions, and materialistic mind

respectively. These may give good results in Upachayas, and benefic aspect

will give dignity to it and prevent the ultimate failure because of

unrighteous means. They will do good if aspect/conjoin natural malefics thus

destroying their influence or in the 6th destroying enimity. In 4th, and 7th

they will destroy their significations, while in 8th and 12th they will

birng about things like disasters, inprisonment etc.

 

Their negative influence will be especially pronounced in trikonas as these

represent the inherent nature of a person. Among these three duryogas

Chandra-Chandala is most dangerous as the mind is the most difficult thing

to control. So in trikonas it gives Sakti-yoga which destroys significations

it conjoins/aspects. It can be good if the latter are malefics but bad if

they are benefics. The results should be seen in regards to desa, kala,

patra and they can be mitigated depending upon strong benefic influences, as

well as other factors dealing with spirituality. Ultimately Krishna's mercy

can override all the factors.
