Jaya JagannathDear YND and all, Thank you for the appreciation and I hope all others also benefit from SJVC site. Pearl has written that she has downloaded all pages and printed them out for her reading. This is good and others can also do the same. I will keep putting up lessons and articles out there.

YND has raised some conceptual questions that I reply under:-

Dear Gurudev,My respecful obeisances. Jaya Jagannath! After reading your article on our site, all seeming contraditctions cleared. They arose because of different terminology and different connotations. What you describe is a brilliant detailed explaination of the the Universal form of the Lord based on the 1st chapter of BPHS. In my postings to both the list and to you personally I was concentrating on the suddha-sattva counterparts of all these mundane phenomena based on the same chapter of BPHS, beyond moksa or liberation. This simply goes beyond the subject matter of the class, so kindly excuse my ignorance. Can I ask some more questions on your article:You write:ARTICLE

The Zodiac, called the Bha-Chakra symbolises the body of Narayana in it physical aspect or Brahmanda, as viewed from the earth at the centre. The Bha Chakra is divided into two signs starting from Aries and is called the 12-petal lotus of Brahma. Since the microcosm (Nara) is the same as the macrocosm (Narayana), the Bha Chakra also represents the individual (animate/inanimate object). Thus, eight latter mantra everything that we perceive at least, is represented by the zodiac. This twelve petal lotus grows from the navel of Narayana, and these points at 00 Aries, 00 Leo and 00 Sagittarius represent the Navel (also called Brahma Nabhi) and symbolise the end/beginning. Thus, these points are called Gandanta and the two Nakshetra-Pada adjoining each navel are called Gandanta-Pada. These are (a) 00 0' to 30 20' Aries and 260 40' to 30o 0' Pisces around the point 00 Aries; (b) 00 0' to 30 20' Leo and 260 40' to 30o 0' Cancer around the point 00 Leo & © 00 0' to 30 20' Sagittarius and 260 40' to 30o 0' Scorpio around the point 00 Sagittarius. With this emerged the concept of perfect harmony or trines (and the angle of 1200). Thus, the zodiac was divided into three types of signs as dual, movable and fixed.<O:P</O:P

YND's Question:It is not quite clear for me this division on three parts. Please confirm whether my guess is correct. As the 12 signs correspond to Brhamanda, the three parts of the Zodiac will correspond to the three planetry systems, Bhur, Bhuvah, Svah. Thus the Zodiac is the representation of the sambandha part of the Gayatri Mantra - OM BHUR BHUVAH SVAH TAT SAVITUR VARENYAM where Lord Surya-Narayan is the center of all. Is that correct?

Rath: Yes it is correct.YND's Question:Suppose it is, then how does this relate to your last sentence:"Thus, the zodiac was divided into three types of signs as dual, movable and fixed"This logical link (thus) is not clear for me. How these are connected with the three parts of the Zodiac? Should we understand that as Aries is movable it signifies the beginning of Bhurloka, which is passionate. Then Leo is fixed signifying Bhuvarloka which is inhabited by Kinnaras, Gandharvas, Bhutas, ghosts which can be reffered to tamas. The third compartment starts from Saggitarious whcih is dual which signifies Svargaloka which is sattvic. Rath: The controlling Bhava for the BHU (Earth), Bhuva (Firmament) and Swah (Heaven) Loka (Abode) are Aries, Leo and Sagittarius and since this is in Fiery signs, it is Agni or Swaha Shakti that carries our mantra to the deity. The fact that the tatwa can exist in all loka (abode) means that the signs ARIES to Cancer representing the four tatwa exist in Bhu Loka and similarly all the Tatwa exist in Bhuva as well as Swarga Loka. Thus Indra and the other devata in Swarga Loka are not above the Tatwa.

Coming to Guna, we must understand the real import of "HARI-HARA-BRAHMA YOGA". Please read about this. In the third part of the Yoga, it is said that for Brahma Yoga to occur, strong planets should be present in kendra (Quadrants) to the lord of Lagna (Paka Lagna). Thus Brahma Yoga refers to quadrants or kendra.

In Bhu Loka or this world, Aries is the controlling sign and the predominant Guna shall be Rajas. You will see that from time immemorial people are running after money and they still continue to run. In fact money shall run this world. Signs in quadrant to Aries or all movable signs shall possess Rajas Guna due to Brahma Yoga. Similarly, in Bhuva Loka (Firmament), the spirits of the dead Kinnaras, Gandharvas, etc. reside and the predominating Guna of Leo i.e. Tamas is present therein. Due to Brahma Yoga all Kendra to Leo or all fixed signs shall have Tamas Guna. In a similar vein, The predominant Guna of Swarga Loka is Satwa and that nature of sagittarius is also present in signs in quadrants to it.

Now take a fresh look at the three Loka and you will see that in Bhu Loka (Aries to Cancer), 50% (Aries & Cancer) is Rajas, 25% (Gemini) is Satwa and 25% (Taurus) is Tamas. Thus, clearly Rajas dominates. Similarly in Bhuva Loka there is 50% Tamas and in Swarga Loka there is 50% Satwa dominating.

Another thing is what is that story about three navels of Brahma. I just never heard about it? Rath: This is a well known concept. It is from these nabhi that the Manushya (Aries), Rakshasha (Leo) and Deva (Sagittarius) were created on the basis of Dharma (see lords of Navamsa).

signs in each compartment correspond to the four of the mahabhutas as the ether pervades all signs being the space or sky which accomodates all of them. I wonder then what is the significance of the fact that each compartments starts and ends with the sign of the same guna?Rath: I have explained this earlier.

r as drig-dasas, I am desperately asking everybody around how to calculate the dasa sequence for those who are born in the movable sign? So far no reply...Rath: Don't worry about this now.

Best WishesSanjay Rath
