A few words on Gandanta Dosha, maybe Gurudeva would add some more thoughts.

 

Parashara Rish describes three types of Gandanta dosha:

 

1. Tithi Gandanta: The starting two ghatis of Poorna Tithis (5., 10., 15.

lunar days) and the ending two ghatis of Nanda Tithis (1., 6. and 11.) are

called Gandanta.

 

2. Nakshatra Gandanta: The four ghatis of the junction point of

Revati-Ashvini, Aslesha-Magha, and Jyestha-Moola are called Nakshatra

Gandanta.

 

3. Lagna Gandanta: Half ghatis astride the junction point of signs

Pisces-Aries, Cancer-Leo and Scordio-Sagittarius (totally one ghati in each

case) anre called Lagna Gandanta.

 

4. amongst these Gandantas the ending five Gahtis of Jyestha and starting

eight ghatis of Moola Nakshatras ale called Abhukta Moola. This is a highly

malefic period.

 

The effects of Gandanta: If two or three are present, then infent death can

occur. If less then there may be destruction of family members, the native

will be suffering different tribulations and will serve the mean and the

low.

 

Prashara Rishi suggests as a remedy to worship the golden idol of the Tithi,

Naksharta or Lagna Lord and giving in charity a bullock, a cow with a calf

or gold, and feeding the brahmanas. I suppose that the worhip of the deity

of Krishna is also sufficient to remove the Dosha's effects.
