Guest guest
Namaste Narasimha, >Sg-Pi makes the best sense for coming under the influence of a >guru (Pi is >aspected by exalted Mercury in gurupada - arudha of 9th - and >Pi's lord is in >9th from Pi). Pi antardasa is a great candidate for bringing a >guru into your >life. Sg-Pi brought Srila Prabhupada into your life and Sc-Pi >brought Sanjay >Rath. These dasa correspondences are about as good as it gets for the times when I received each initiation. Very interesting...... >Do you know when you came under the influence of Sri K.N. >Rao? I met Sri K.N. Rao the first week of July, 1994. This brings up two views for the calculation of Antaradasas, based upon differing ways Sanjay has instructed to calculate Antaradasas (for Narayana, and presumably other Phalita dasas also). It would be Aquarius/Capricorn dasa, taking the first AD from Saturn, and counting forward from its rasi (Cancer). Now, Sanjay has also suggested that the stronger Rasi occupied by the lords of the dasa rasi and the 7th from it, can also initiate the sub-periods. If we do this, the stronger between Aq and Le in my case, is Virgo (occupied by the Sun), and thus Virgo can initiate the sub-periods. Then, Pisces would be the sub-period of Aq dasa which was operative when I received the meeting of Sri Rao. This would be appropriate as (1) Aq is 5th, (2) Jupiter, ruling the sub-period sign (Pi) rules mantra pada, and (3) Pisces has the aspect of gurupada (A9) and its lord, lagna lord, as well as Atmakaraka Mars. This makes better sense than Cp, who contains Khasta pada (A8), as being a time of meeting an important teacher. Seeing this, it reminds me to experiment with both ways of calculating the sub-periods of Phalita dasas! >Please don't take this negatively and combatively: Mantras, >rituals and similar >procedures of God are an illusion of this world related to >bhakti, devotion and >dedication to God. The two are different. The former are seen >from the arudha of >5th (mantra pada) and the latter are seen from the plain 5th >house. You are entirely correct here, as according to strict Vaishnava scripture, the former constitute Sadhana bhakti, which isn't really Bhakti yoga, but practise under the guidance of the guru. When one come to the spontaneous level of devotion, Raganuga bhakti, then one is said to be actually engaged in the service of God. Prior to that, it is, as you say, a type of symbolic devotion. This is key in understanding the differences between houses and their padas, and especially within the context of Drig dasa. It so happens in my case, however, that the initiation coming during the AD of the 5th house, was a preliminary one, while the one coming during the AD of A5, was the more complete, or full initiation. Nevertheless, at either stage, one is still engaged in Sadhana bhakti, whereby the guru really accepts the devotions of the Sishya on behalf of Krsna --Krsna, God, does not directly accept them. So even here, the distinctions of the actual house (truth), as opposed to its pada (illusions or perceptions), are irrelevant anyway. If you have any further views on this, I would be all ears. * Do you think that, if in the chart of a guru or spiritual preceptor, the Arudha lagna is far stronger than the lagna, that his own spiritual stature as a guru or spiritual leader would be more " show " than " go " ? Opinions welcome! With regards, Robert ===================================== Robert A. Koch, Vedic Astrologer 760 NW Broken Arrow Rd.
