Guest guest
|| ohm gam ganapathayae namaha || dear members, Yesterday, I was reading Jataka Parajatakam, by Vaidyannatha. In the 18th chapter there (Dasaantardasaadhyaaya:), aaditya candra kuja raahu suraeSa mantri mandajna kaetu bRgujaa nava kRttikaadyaa: taenoenaya: sinadayaa taTa dhanya saevya saenaa naraa dinakaraadi daSaabda sankhyaa MEANING: (I had translation in telugu with me, which I am translating to English). krittika etc. nine constellations, nine planets take lord ship of the dasas. This way, the 27 constellations, in three groups of nine constallations each from krittika onwards form 3 cycles. In all these 3 cycles, Ravi, Chandra, Kuja, Rahu, Guru, Sani, Budha, Kethu, Sukra take lord ship starting with Ravi for krittika. The 9 planets (starting with Ravi) have 6,10,7,18,16,19,17,7,20 years of their dasa duration. NOW, I did not get how the dasas are distributed among the constellations. The above sloka was intriguing. After this, in the same chapter, the author hints how to find the dasa which is death inflicting. Niryana Dasa: If the birth was in day time T = Ravi + Sani else if the birth was in night time T = Chandra + Rahu (deduct multples of 360). Now for T, find out which Rasi and constellation. Find out the part of that constellation in the dasa. During that period native will die. For eg. Date of Birth: September 26, 1974 Time of Birth: 7:34:00 am Time Zone of Birth: 5:30 East of GMT Longitude of Birth: 81 E 12 Latitude of Birth: 16 N 15 Lunar month (maasa): Bhadrapada Lunar day (tithi): Sukla Ekadasi Sun-Moon Yoga: Atiganda Sunrise = 5:54:37 am (Apparent rise - upper limb) Ayanamsa = 23-30-31.49 Tatkaala Ravi Dasa (Vimsottari) Sesham = 0 yr 1 mo 24 d 52 gh Ravi was at 9 Vi 6'46.02'' i.e. 150 + 9deg 6'46.02 " i.e. 159deg 6' 46.02 " Sani was at 24Ge15'26.89'' i.e. 60+24deg 15'26.89 " i.e. 84deg 15'26.89 " T = Ravi + Sani = 159 deg 6 min 46.02 sec + 84 deg 15 min 26.89 sec = 243 deg 22 min 12.91 sec = 3 Sg 22'12.91 " i.e. Purvashada 3 padam Does any one has any idea as to how the dasas are distributed among the constellations? Regards, Vijay.
